| I haven't seen one yet, but I have seen reviews saying it's big enough for a duty gun. If it's the same size as the PT9xx series, a compact model might be. |

From everything I've seen they're basically cloning the sizes of the Glock 17, 19 and 26 from the same fire control unit. In order to do that they're NOT slavish clones of any particular Glock the way the Ruger RXM is. They're in the inch and a quarter wide class similar to the Glock 17/19/26 family, Walther PDP and so on...and the Taurus G3/G3c family, but allegedly built better than the G3 family. What I find interesting is the claim that they passed NATO testing. That's basically saying "it's as good as a Glock". They've only made that claim once before, on the TS9. I have one and I'm here to tell you, other than the lack of an optics cut (gun designed in 2018 I think, for overseas police and military contracts) the claim is legit. It's a seriously good gun. Can't find a single review anywhere on the planet reporting a lemon. Whether they've succeeded again is an open question. The optic mount on the TX9 is the same as the setup on the G3C and G3 TORO. It's actually pretty similar to how the Glock Gen 6 setup works. There is a plate system switchable between RMR and DPP, but at least it's a gasket type. In the worst plate systems the plate bolts onto the gun and then the optic bolts onto the plate. You have a total of four screws. That's how the Glock Gen 5 works and it's dogshit. You have four points of failure instead of two (screws) and it's very tall. In the system the TX9 uses, the plate is really just a gasket and the same pair of screws that go through the optic go through the plate and into the middle of the slide. As plate systems go it's at least better. It's lower and with fewer points of failure. I would still prefer direct mount for the multi-pin system you see in the Echelon or RXM but what the TX9 uses is at least decent. |
