Since the hometown forum has been down for a while I'll ask here. I recently heard that in Idaho constitutional carry doesn't apply in city limits. I tried reading Idaho law but can't understand it. Is this true? |

I've never heard of it being in question nor have I heard of anyone having issues. Unless there are local ordinances that prevent you or you don't pass requirements, carry as you wish. Disclaimer - check with your local city PD. |

I first heard about this on a YouTube video about Idaho gun laws. I searched Idaho laws and did see something about city limits but don't understand. |

Idaho law permits both residents and non-residents who are at least 18 years old to carry concealed weapons, without a carry license, outside the limits of or confines of any city, provided the person is not otherwise disqualified from being issued a license to carry. Legalize wording gets confusing, but if you read it as "without a carry license, or (in the) confines of any city" it's a little easier. Concealed means concealed. Nobody asks. I know the new prosecuting attorney in Washington County, he's a huge 2A guy. You would never get jacked up for concealed carry in Weiser. Just watch out for the methabillys there. |

When I first moved to Idaho, that was the law, concealed carry without permit but only outside city limits, but weirdly enough you could open carry anywhere. You also had to be a resident for this to apply. Then they went back and threw out the outside-city-limits thing. Soon after they went back and eliminated the need to be a state resident. It's true constitutional carry now for any US citizen. No telling what kind of stupid the idiot corrupt libtard mayor has gotten up to lately in Boise, probably tried to make some city ordinance or some crap at some point, but the state has pre-emption in all municipalities except for the rez's. |
