| JUST CURIOUS, DO ANY OF YOU CARRY A LESS THAN LETHAL FORCE OPTION? SEIING ALL THE CRAZY TEEN TAKEOVERS ON THE NEWS RECENTLY MADE ME NOTICE THAT MOST OF THEM APPEAR LIKE THEYCOULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED INSTANTLY WITH A CAN OF PEPPER SPRAY. I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT OC SPRAY IS EXTREMELY UNDERRATED. IT IS SOME PAINFUL SHI+ AND IVE SEEN A COUPLE BURST EMPTY A LARGE BUILDING FULL OF PEOPLE ALMOST INSTANTLY. FOR SEVERAL YEARS IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AS AN INVESTIGATOR, I CARRIED A SMALL CAN IN MY POCKET ON DUTY. AS A LEO, THE WORST PART OF PEPPER SPRAY WAS THAT THE OFFICER THAT USED IT, USUALLY JUST BLASTED EVERYONE IN THE AREA INCLUDING THE OTHER OFFICERS. |

OC is the right spray, but carrying it plus a gun, plus medical, plus spare mag, plus knife, plus a pocket knife, plus a light, plus a backup gun. …..fml It’s just too much crap. I carry as an alternative in less permissive areas, or when I want to carry super light. It’s negative is everyone is getting sprayed. |

Why are we yelling? I did recently carry this "sharpie" while in Mexico. It is a g10 insert and made it through airport security twice..

Yeah, the circumstances where one has to rapidly use pepper spray rarely allow for a quick wind direction consideration. It's still nice to have options. Me? Nope. But many here have told me my firearms choice is inadequate, so maybe it counts. Based on your post, I'm also tempted to ask if you've considered hot nut coal from your parlor stove. |

I have young kids and they have a lot of school functions where I cannot be armed, even with a knife. So I have some small OC sprays. They are only a one or two person hit, but small and drop in a pockets. I figure someone is better than nothing. I have been looking at some other stuff like VZ G10 daggers, just to have something else. I havent bought one yet. |

Yeah, the circumstances where one has to rapidly use pepper spray rarely allow for a quick wind direction consideration. GET IT BLOWN BACK IN YOUR FACE ONE TIME AND YOU WILL AUTOMATICLY CHECK WIND DIRECTION BEFORE YOU EVEN PULL IT. JUST THE FUMES WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH. |
I carry a POM pepper spray canister with clip at the back of my left pocket, still room to reach the magazine there if needed but within easy grabbing range. As long as your pants have decent pockets this should work. Knife and cellphone go on the right.
