Hello -
I purchased this barrel for my G43 but I am experiencing problems with it. When I use it I get very light primer strikes. For every ten shots tried I get about one that fires. I've tried about five different types of ammo - Hornady Critical Defense, Sig Defense, Winchester SuperX, Blazer and some handloads. It doesn't seem to matter about the ammo some will go off and some won't, except the Blazer hasn't work at all. When I put the OEM barrel back in all the ammo shoots fine. The gun is stock except for a Ghost trigger connector, but all the springs are stock. I've written to ATI a number of days ago but haven't anything back from them. Any ideas on what might be the problem here? Thanks - Paul |
| Yes, the tolerances are stacked. In order to get this to work with so many guns, sometimes a barrel "or anything else" can work in one gun, and not in another, simply put, the machining is off a degree in the same spot as other parts in the gun that are also stacked too far one way causing this to happen. A good gunsmith might be able to Mice the parts casing this and just mill a little off one spot. But I would return it and try another, which may work perfectly, or be the same, it's too bad you can't try like a dozen of them until you got one that had the tolerances in your favor. |
