Wing Claw 2.0 is what I get these days. I'm waiting on one for my commander, but I have several for other 1911s, M&P and P320. |

When it comes to carry, if you do it long enough, you end up with a box full of holsters that didn’t work for you when you tried something different,or you find a single method and holster type that works for you and you don’t deviate. Appendix has been all the rage for I’d say about 15 years now ,wasn’t very popular prior to that. Despite what some advocates claim it isn’t best for everyone. I can only handle something like a glock 26 or J frame in that position. My chubby waist, short torso simply don’t agree. I don’t disparage those it works for or think it is a bad method at all. If you look at the vast majority of dedicated appendix carriers ( 03RN’s picture proves my point) they tend to be taller longer waisted thin people. Unlike 20 years ago, it seems every maker out there is making appendix holsters now. Everything I have read and seen indicate expect to tinker with the holster to dial it in to your comfort, pillows pads etc. to get what works for you. I think I see an advantage in leather like 03RN posted. I have to imagine a bit less pokey than kydex. |

Its my go to carry setup. I daily a DW Specialist in a Phlster Floodlight 1 with pull the dot loops. A more flexible edc belt, pull the dot loops, and letting the gun sit pretty deep have been the key to success for me. Even in a schmedium t-shirt and shorts. When I still owned a 2011 with a dot, Id use the same set up and conceal pretty well even with a 140mm mag in the gun. YMMV on that front though, it was definitely pushing it. |

I want to, I'm just not a fan of holsters that have the loops/clips on top of the gun instead of over the trigger guard. That seems to be the trend now though. It just adds so much unnecessary thickness to the whole package IMO. Really want to try making my own if I can find the time. |

Crossbreed IWB, strongside, not appendix. I carried a full sized 1911 wearing shorts, an entire weekend around a large party of people in unfriendly territory. Nobody had a clue. Crossbreed is one of the most comfortable IWB holsters you will find. I am not a small guy and I always wear baggy shirts.

I don't carry a full-size but I do carry a standard 1911 Commander with the bob-tail (or non-standard if the bob-tail disqualifies). I like the bob-tail and would want that feature if the 1911 was full-size. I would imagine that a bob-tail on a full-size (a 1911 Gubment) would go a long way towards helping with concealment. |

| Another 5" Govt model/ JM Custom AIWB 2.0 wing claw guy. I really only carry my steel guns in Fall/Winter though due to sweat/humidty. I'm 6'0, 200 lbs and I have no problem concealing with that setup, though I do take care when I sit down as I have clamped a grape a few times with that combo. |
