Haven't done much to it. I bought it as a Colt Rail Gun that as pretty much stock except it had a full length guide rod on it. Swapped it out for GI, put an 18lb recoil spring and hammer spring on, magwell and 10-8 magazine release. Oh and trijicon HD night sights, which are bitchin'. I know there may be more relevant, modern handguns out there. But I love me some 1911. |

Max Hardcore is not a crime!
Just thought I share a photo of the Colt Python that was my Step-Fathers Service revolver for 20 + years with the local Sherriff's Office. He died 4 years ago, but before he did he willed his 1971 Colt Python to me. It is like factory new and shoots like a dream !! I can't belive how smooth the trigger pull is. Truley a joy to have. He said he wanted me to have it because no one else in the family would keep it or appreciate it. I will and I do.

No they are from duragrips.com and even though I think I just found the guy a few years ago from googling "1911 grips", they are awesome. And affordable too. Anyways, lest there be any doubt, she gets shot. A lot. In some pretty crap conditions too. Has yet to malfunction.

My babies, Colt Officers LIghtweight .45 ACP...both were partly crafted by Dave Helton of Seattle, Washington. He did the front straps, 30 lpi, trigger job and the Novak sights. I did the beavertails, King’s Full-Length Guide Rods & Bushings, dehorn. Refinished by Robar...NP3, Roguard. All have Ed brown triggers, hammers, sears, disconnectors, extended thumb safeties, Wilson Combat mags. One has a Wilson beavertail, while the other has the Ed Brown. Both were brand new before custom work, and the Ed Brown one has one magazine fired through it only. Love these!

just bought this old junker a few days back.
Its a 1931 colt official police with a six inch heavy barrel and apparently a newish refinish job on it. It had a weird little aluminum grip filler clipped onto the front grip frame under the grips for a better hold with large hands but I took it off for the picture. Was sick when I saw the re-finisher was heavy handed with the buffing wheel and ate off almost all the stampings but other than that it was perfect. tightest action I have felt on a revolver this old and the trigger is almost better than my dads Python so I was like what the heck for $300 otd it was good enough for a bed side pistol.
