9×18 Makarov Prvi Partizan PPU 95gr JHP Hollow Point Ammo, 250rds 99.95 @ J&G Sales Came out to just under $130 shipped ($26 a box). Not the best HP ammo as it doesn’t always expand, but gives great penetration with a more disruptive wound channel than FMJ. Most of the HP ammo ballistic Gel tests I’ve seen fail to give adequate penetration when the bullets do expand. OP, have you had a chance to buy/try this ammo yet? Curious how it shoots. At least PPU is a traditional maker of this caliber so it should be ok... Many years ago, when I last carried/shot my MAK, I used Hornady's JHP loading. But I never tested any or read any reviews. I agree than a JHP even if it doesn't expand, is better than FMJ due to the cutting effect of the sharp shoulder/ogive of the JHP. Kinda like a SWC. Assuming it feeds 100% and has decent velocity. |
