Found and unfired 61-3 Escort. Has a clean box, pistol case, and a S&W model marked leather holster. Can anyone put an exact date of manufacture on it? I've found '71-73. What's the value on something like this? Since it's unfired I probably won't fire it as much as I want to! How can I be the 1st to fire an old firearm? Also what's the best way to store it? Looked at those a few times but always passed. One, they're just too ugly. Two, our club had three 422s. or whatever the stainless model was. Nothing but trouble. All three broke the takedown piece and it took years to find replacements. Not a fan of that design. |
| Nice pistol, if you are planning to store it long term, I would take it apart, clean and oil then store in a silicone treated soft gun storage cases. Unsure if you can still get Bore Store ones, but I have some pistols that have been stored that way for years. No issues. I do rotate them every so often. The cheaper ones that MidwayUSA and Allen sells do not appear to be as good as quality. I do use the cheaper ones for transporting pistols to the range. |
