I have a black follower Glock 17 pattern OEM 31 round magazine that is sluggish to push ammo up when loaded past 15 rounds. If loaded past 15ish or so, I can eject rounds with my thumb and watch the rounds slowly come up to the feed lips. Below 15ish it functions as normal bench testing. I remember loading it full awhile ago and the spring made an odd crunching noise and the problems started. I have since then replaced the spring with a Wolff +10% power new spring, cleaned the inside of the magazine, cleaned the follower and removed any burrs, and verified it’s assembled properly. This problem is with 147gr RN xtreme reloads off a Dillon 550 using Dillon dies so the rounds have that coke bottle shape to them if anyone is familiar. This ammo functions well in all my other pmags and Glock 17 round mags. I tried my carry ammo in the problematic 31 round magazine and it functions fine, although it still seemed a little slow to me when sliding rounds out with my thumb. Anything I’m missing here? It seems to be ammo related to my reloads. My other Glock oem 31 round mag with orange follower functions properly with the same ammo. Other than a new follower, I’m out of ideas. |

I tried the troublesome magazine with the old spring when that one was pushing rounds up slow as well. It did not function properly while shooting. Same symptoms as when after I replaced the spring with a Wolff spring. I’m not too interested in switching bullet weights around issues with one magazine. I may try a new follower and if that doesn’t solve it, I’ll move on from this magazine. |

I have never had a problem with Glock OEM 33rd magazines. I have never seen a Glock 31 round magazine without a +2 extension. Are you sure it is a Glock? Did you buy it new? Now Korean OEM (?) manufactured... yes problems. Is it possible it is not a Korean 31 round magazine with a Glock magazine floor plate someone installed? |

It’s a Glock oem 33 round. 31 indicator holes with the +2 extension. I admit I didn’t indentify it correctly as I thought it was a 31 rounder. The inside didn’t appear to have any rough patches when I cleaned it. |

Will this fix it NOT sure but if it won't work without the plus 2 plate and loaded to 30 rounds its got issues send back to Glock. The 31 rd mags were never meant to have a plus 2 installed. I have seen Glock Factory 31 round mags. Yes in the plastic with cardboard backer with Glock trademark all over it. IT was a factory option at one time. Been about 10 years but I have seen them. What to do with the plus 2 and its locking plate. GOT A 15 rd mag. PUT a mag spring from a 17 rounder and put it on the bottom instead of the standard floor plate. Boom 17 round mag with an extra big grippy part on the end.. OR get a 11 coil spring from Glock that is actually for the plus 2 baseplates on a 17 round mag. Put the plus 2 and the 11 coil spring in the 17 round magazine. BOOM 19 round mag with an extra big grippy part on the end. After this trick you will love the 19 round Mag and the extra control you have during mag changes. NOT necessarily faster but extra comfy and controllable. |
