Shot one of these recently and was really impressed as I had carried a Browning HP 40 as a duty gun decades ago. Even after C&S magic and removal of mag safety the trigger was just passable for SAO on the Browning. The new HP with its redesign shoots like a laser for me and the trigger was fantastic. I don't like earth tone guns but when you see the FDE HP with those black buttons and switches It really looks nice, plus its PVD and not cerakote (a big plus). On the model i shot the guy had put Browning HP VZ grips on and they would NOT tighten down so it's obvious you have to get the VZs specifically for the 2022 HP. As a guy that carried a traditional Hi Power professionally, shot multiple clinics/courses and qualifications with it over a few years, this new one feels more like a really nice CZ with its nice SAO trigger. Fit and finish were nice. I was shooting it next to my Echelon with an RDS that I have thousands of rounds through and after few rounds I think I was quicker on follow up shots with the HP with irons. They really did a nice job on this overhaul of the platform though purists prob hate it. |

Has FN discontinued it yet, cuz they will! That's the issue with FN pistols. They seemingly make a good product, then 2 years later discontinue it, and come out with something different, that of course uses completely different mags and parts. I really like my FN FNP. Then apparently it had issues with the unsupported chamber, so instead of just making a different barrel, that and maybe other issues makes FN come out with the FNX, which, as above, uses compelty different mags and parts. Now they have a striker version of the 45, and the FNX probably has its days numbered too. There's nothing wrong with a company coming up with better products - the "Glock Perfection!!!" is up to Gen 6, so I guess it's 6 times more Perfection, or something. But all the mags still work, most of the parts, etc. FN has changed up their guns too many times for most people to want to invest in anymore. Which is a shame, as they do have good guns, they just need to keep making and supporting them. |
| I'm just trying to sort out why retailers like Academy and Cabella's sell the model with VZ grips for $299 more than the plastic grips.when FN sells the grips for $80+/-. I don't see any other difference in the pistols. Of course Bud's and other have the VZ grips models at same price as the base model which is odd in itself. |

I just picked up one for them from a local shop. It has a very nice trigger and the VZ grips, along with two set's of the factory grips in black and tan. Looking forward to shooting it next week. I have or had a few other HighPowers, including one from Novak I still have and sold off a Grade III from C&S on the aluminum frame that I carried for about three years as a reserve police officer. The trigger on the FN is as good as the custom shop builds and the magazines hold 17 rounds. It may become my EDC gun shortly eclipsing my Cajun CZ75's. |

Well I’ve shot the FN HP, at my initial range sessions, over 400 rounds fired. The ammo was a mix of Federal AE, 9BPLE+P+, and Speer GoldDots. Best factory trigger I’ve ever experienced outside of 22rf target pistols. Shoots everything I tried to point of aim at 10 and 15 yards. It holds the ten ring off of a rest at 25 yards on an NRA bullseye timed and rapid fire targets. Smooth shooter, possibly a best buy at the retail price point. |

Took the plunge last night, ordered a FDE with the G10 grips for a really good price. Should have it next week. My MKIII is a phenomenal pistol, just got it set up perfectly. Am curious to see how the new one does, though the lack of aftermarket upgrades might be a limiting factor of how far it can go. |
