My dad wasn’t really a gun guy. His guns were for hunting. But after a break-in in the early 90s he went to a pawn shop and bought this Model 60. It doesn’t have the original wood stocks anymore but the vintage Pachmyers are period correct. I inherited it and shoot it regularly and carry it occasionally. Got a new holster for it today. I recently picked up a S&W Model 60 from 1985 at a recent local gun auction. Paid $483.55 for it ( winning bid, buyers premium , state tax and transfer fee). Hope I didn't get burned too badly. In really good shape, but is also came with Pachmyr grips on it. Luckily, I had a set of S&W J frame walnut grips, so I swapped them out. Haven't had time to shoot it yet, maybe this weekend. Gary |

Nice gun. I shot two of the 4 pictured below today. And almost bought a 5th while at a local pawn. I've seen a lot recently in the used cases. I usually don't. Rarely see blued 36's though. Attached File |

Now today most are removing rubber grips to go with wood. Being around revolvers for 40+ years now and being primarily a revolver guy all that time, for day in day out high volume use rubber usually are better for actual shooting. Fully agree wood looks better. (When I say high volume, some years my reloading log will be 12 thousand plus 38’s annually, plus a smattering of factory ) |
| I'm Model 60 poor. (I have a total of 5.) Three of them are former Metro Nashville PD-issued back up guns with rack numbers etched into the frame, with one of them having the MNPD logo engraved in the sideplate. The other two are a 3" factory DAO 60-3 and an adjustable sight, 3", .357, 60-10. |
