[Last Edit: SGB]
I thought it was about time we had a 1911 pay it forward thread. SGB was nice enough to allow this, so let's make the most of it.

Have any extra bits laying around that someone else could use? Here is your chance to earn some karma, and maybe pick up that item that you've been meaning to get
These are the rules.

- Post a 1911 related item you no longer need or use.

- The First to respond with an I'll take it posted in the thread has claim to the item.

- Keep ALL transactions legal and above board. All transactions to be conducted within the thread itself and NO IM/Email transactions other than shipping information. This keeps the back door snipers out of the picture and no one will get upset over a lost opportunity.

- Postage is to be worked out via IM or Email by the giver and the receiver.

- Multiple items are allowed in such that ... "I have 5 of these who wants ONE ?" This gives 5 different people involved in the process. Not someone grabbing all 5 of the items. Lets be friendly AND fair in this.

- FEEDBACK, this is a friendly giveaway/trade transaction and not a buy/sell transaction. So feedback isn't necessarily required by EE standards. So if feedback is posted by some and not by others don't get your whitey tighties in a bunch if it doesn't happen.

THERE IS TO BE NO SELLING OR TRADING OF ITEMS.

ETA: 03-18-2011 -Gentlemen
if you offer an item up as available and then fail to follow through on
delivering the item to the member who claims it you will at minimum be
locked out of this forum.- SGB

I'll take the FLGR if it's for a 5"

I'd like to offer up a Novak rear night site (takeoff from a Springfield Champion 4") and a stainless single side safety lever (takeoff from a Colt Delta Elite)

I'll take the rear novak sight.

Since someone failed to read the rules (#5) ;)

I disagree, I read the rules and feel I was following them. the rule(#5) states Multiple items which I take for example "5 sets of grips"  , the post was for 2 different items of 1 qty each.   I requested both items which is in my interpretation following the rules. I have also emailed the poster requesting his address so I may send postage along with my address for the items.

and CombatMP great idea for the 1911 section.

Sorry LittleMagic––-I've gotta go with irag2362 on this one.  First to post, and it is for single items.

Just so both irag2362 and LittleMagic know, this Novak only works on the short 1911s.  It'll shoot really high on a 5".

t is a shame that this thread has not been better received. When these pay it forward threads work they work very well indeed. Unfortunately the only extra/spare 1911 stuff I had sold at the last garage sale I had or I would be putting up some items.
If you offer up something, please make sure that you follow through. On other forums when I have offered up items and followed through the payback I received far outweighed the value of the items. Payback isn't always going to be something you can put your hands on...more times then not it is the good feeling you get by  helping a person achieve something they may not or couldn't have done on their own.
Just my $.02 worth for a Monday morning

I have a set of wraparound hogue grips lying around in my garage, govt size. They are kind of dry, but for a range gun, should suffice for anybody who wants them.
