Id consider it for bear where penetration through thick bone is a must. For deer and hogs, I'd probably look for a cheaper alternative like a more conventional JHP. 175 Silvertip for deer and maybe a load using the 200gr XTP for hogs. Or maybe the 180 XTP load for both. I like Hornady's loads using the XTP but some of the boutique makers like Buffalo Bore also make some that are FULL power. |
