he's has a masters electrical engineering & minor in physics and loves learning. what are some good books to look at for gifting? thanks; usually someone here has a decent grasp of this stuff,, |
| It really depends on what is already know and what he wants to learn. Cell biology is so broad and vast. For cell, best advise is to find a used textbook like Pollard's Cell Biology. Once general concepts are introduced, fall down a Wikipedia hole clicking links until something interests him, then find lit review papers to read on Pubmed |
| I haven't read any that ARE woke. There may be some where people are trying to push an agenda, I haven't read them, and I'm sure they'd be easy to spot and avoid, but for the vast majority, the science is dry, boring and to the point. There are no trans cells, no LGBTQ enzymes, no people of color organelles. |

I think Alberts was the book my class used in cell biology a number of years ago in college. (BS in Biology, Chem minor) |
