hey! looking for the name of the game where a knight wanders down hallways, foes would block him, the faster he ran, his heart rate would increase and could cause his death. black and white wire frame graphics. played it in the Army during the mid 80s on an old non windows computer. winner gets 87 internets for a month. I had that one as a kid and while i liked the premise, I hated the game. shit was real time, not turn based and i was a very slow typer. I could handle the spiders and shit ok, but as soon as that armored fuck turned up it was over |

Ok, now that this game peeked interest... I'm looking (and have been, interwebs didn't turn anything up for me) a game from mid-80s, played on an AT&T dos machine. It was a dungeon crawler of sort, but top down, and just monochrome walls, hallways, doorways, character and enemies were filled in, everything else black. I believe you started out with a choice of warrior, rouge, etc. Extremely basic, arpg, not turn based. Advanced to the next dungeon, eventually got too difficult to progress. Would like to eventually find it and emulate it in dos box. Was definitely a commercial game as I remember the 5.25" floppy had art on it. I'm sure the game wasn't amazing, but to a 5 year old it was. Thanks. |

Back then you were sold a source code and entered the 200+ word source code into the command line of the computer every time you booted up. Hence why the cassettes were a literal game changer. First games on cassette are typically considered: Star Trek, Kill the Bit, and Lunar Lander, though I don't think anyone knows exactly which one is the first. ditto. had a few different atari 8bit computers, a commodore 64 and a TRS-80 but that was only at school. I remember having a cassette recorded as well before floppy discs came out. I transitioned into the Atari 16bit computers for awhile before finally getting a 386 when I went to college. lol wow, I'm old. Anyone else here know DCL?  |
