I saw a short clip of it. Didn't really look too appealing. I remember playing the original on NES. Maybe I'm "old man yells at clouds" but it just looked like garbage skull fucking our childhood memories for a buck. |

Made by Platinum games with input/advising by T-K/"Team Ninja". Reviews are generally positive, though it doesn't take all the signature attributes from the OG games. I noticed early on, & the reviews confirm, that it ditches the wall running/climbing-slashdown moves, & the levels are open arenas. I've also read some reviewers complaining of the characters (player & NPCs) feeling too floaty & lacking a visceral sense of weight to their movements & motion. That said, a lot of reviewers do like how fleshed out & challenging the combat is. Since I was able to install & run the OG XB360 NG2 on my PC via emulation, I'll be content to watch NG4 gamers on Twitch to get a clearer sense of the game & probably wait for a Steam sale if I like it enough. Too bad there's no co op mode. Life not being without a sense of irony, Tomunobu Itagaki died just last week. No word on the cause, but I suspect cancer, possibly metastatic lung, as he seemed to be a prolific smoker. |
