hello,,
just let me introduce myself first before i get anybody telling me that im a conspiracy theorist,, i am 25 hispanic,, born and raised in texas,, mostly houston, i have never really been into the whole conspiracy group, i have always loved my country, i was wanting to join the military, only reason i did not go to the military was because i received a really good opportunity to further my career, and took it, so as of now im a pretty well of so to say. i have always believed in our constitution and having equal rights for every man, woman and child,. i have never really felt threatened by anything in the past,, like the recession, or all the financial problems the U.S has had in the recent years. except for the 9/11 incident. but recently ive been hearing a lot of chatter about coming events,, nearing close to the election,,,, the first time i felt a doubt was last year when the NDAA bill passed that allowed the imprisonment of U.S. citizens on U.S. soil, if the government deemed them to be a terrorist threat.. i felt like that was a violation of our constitution, i believe it states that its not indefinite incarceration, but only allows the believed terrorist or threat to be detained whilst a war is active, which is in my opinion still indefinite, there are a couple of things that made me feel more uneasy about whats been going on but the last one was the UN small arms treaty,, in know it was proposed a while back but i never believed it would have gone so far, i believe the senate house vetoed the treaty last i heard and that i was going to be put on hold until after the elections, , recently i heard that the obama administration are working on a bill to outlaw the manufacturing and importation of ammunition, including the 55.6 nato and 7.62nato, not sure if there was any truth to that because i havnt been able to find out anything online,, a couple of other things that i heard was some stuff going on in Syria that are being kept under the radar until after the election, and of course all the things going on in libya, there is talk about blackouts soon to be happening all around the us and a proposed martial law to be put in place and the us split into different divisions,(sort of a hunger games type scenario, except for the whole post apocalyptic , and deranged "running man"ish scenario entertainment) but i assume the nine would be split into the regions already put in place which can be found here in wiki pedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_regions_of_the_United_States now the blackouts are supposed to be the cause of solar flares, which i have heard on the news to be expected to cause communication issues, but could also cause the power grid to come down http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,478024,00.html i have read that other agencies have purchased huge amounts of ammunition,, from what i can read is that the ammunition is supposed to be delivered over the course of the next four years.. if what i am reading is true,, but even so it is still large amounts to be purchasing for homeland security,, now,, i can only imagine if a blackout would happen,, for a couple days would be s troubling issue,, but if it were to happen for say .. two weeks,, i think something like that would be devastating, i can only imagine months, and if something like that were to happen, i Dont believe i would be able to rely on FEMA or LEOs or anything for that matter to help out... i believe that would classify SHTF scenarios,, now, the blackout scenario im not very convinced seeing as that solar flares are not predictable until about i belive 16minutes and the main thing that would effect the power grid is a coronal mass ejection but i believe those can range from anywhere from 2 day to 5 days to reach earth,, ,, but still it seems pretty flimsy for me to start going out and wearing the end is near signs around my neck,, and waving a bible around at random people.. but i have read that there is a fear of the debt the us to pretty much go bankrupt and cause banks to collapse, a couple random ones were russian stealth subs in us territory and some odds and ends that i believed to be just random conspiracy,, but with all thats been going on in the elections and what i have seen a read about,, not just on the news,( i dont really like to rely on everything from the news,), i have had a real uneasy feeling going into the end of this year,,, and i want to make sure that i can be prepared for anything that may happen.. i have been stocking up on ammo,, and have been thinking about going to pick up another ar,, and will be going to but some non perishables, for some safe keeping,, really my post is to know if anyone else has heard of the same or if there is much of any legitimacy to these claims.. |

ive heard all these things too if you look at the facts they are all plausible things. i have had a bad feeling for the last year or so also. i dont know for sure whats coming but my gut is tellin me to prepare with weapons, ammo, food and water.
and really the more i pay attention to the news the more i feel we are headed for ww3 or financial collapse, so i guess its better to have and not need than to need and not have when it comes to this situation. i dont want to be the poor asshole who didnt save anything up and is screwed when the shtf, neither do i want to be the douche running around robbing people who did prepare. so if you want my advice prepare for the worst and pray for the best, and id say that you and i both live in a good part of the country for this sort of thing to happen. people on the coast and densely populated areas are guna be the hardest hit imo. thats if any of this happens, i could be totally wrong , im just an average joe with concerns |

there is evidence and theory that points to all the above being real possibilities. Also consider even if you arent a conspiracy theorist, many people are, and some are deranged enough to help see these things actually happen any way they can. Can come from terrorists, religious nuts, or even your hollywood scientoligists. We just never really know when/where/how until it's on top of us.
You should check out some of the Survival boards. there are many discussions about all of these things. All the scenarios for SHTF and TEOTWAWKI. "Preppers" often get looked at like we are loonies.. they say.. 'the government will never let this happen'.. who is to say the government won't be the one bringing these things about? Are you prepared to defend yourself against the DHS or other agencies? 2013 is supposed to be peak solar activity for this sun cycle. (26,000 years I think). So if a CME (coronal mass ejection) was to happen that was a high enough class to cause widespread grid damage, it would most likely be in early 2013, but nobody really knows and can only speculate. There is not enough evidence to say "yes it will happen at this time". I think it was just in the mid 1800's when they first realized the effects of solar flares on electricity (might be wrong but that time period sticks out in my head) All the wars and fighting and things going on, not just in the world, but in our own country.. could it be the beginning of WWIII that has been prophesized by both christians and non christians for hundreds or a thousands of years? We just don't know. Like Seven_Six_Two said.. prepare for the worst, hope for the best. But seriously check out some of the survival boards, even the one here on ar15.com. read, talk, you can decide for yourself. probably debunk a few theories in the process, and learn which ones you personally would pay the most attention to preparing for. I am not rich, I can't prep for everything that could possibly happen. But I would feel comfortable currently in most situations besides Bio-chem war, Nuclear fallout, and the dreaded "amg solar flare is coming to roast every human on the planet". But martial law, economic collapse, US getting divided up into territories (this has been predicted for a long time), Ocean levels rising and flooding most of the coastal US altering the topography/geography (not sure the proper term here)... just prepare for what you can, and hope the rest doesn't happen. I haven't done this myself, but I have prepper friends out in Colorado that have formed a group of people over the years. Within that group, there are smaller groups, that prep for different things.. but they get enough for everyone.. that way the burden is distributed and more affordable for everyone. Example.. 3 people get radiation gear/equipment, 2 or 3 get gas masks, chem suits, etc, Others get food preps, others guns/ammo and learn fishing, hunting, survival/defensive skills. I have not found a local group of preppers here. But you probably won't find many that advertise prepping and invite random people to join the 'family'. If you do find a group, numbers are good as long as everyone can carry their own weight or bring a skill to the table, so check them out, go to meetings if they have them, etc. We just never really know how shits goin down, be it man made or natural disaster. As the earth gets more active, and the sun gets more active this year and next year, I say anything is possible. And wish everyone luck and health in the years to come. editing to add that it was in the news recently some country had engineered a virus that could infect/kill millions of people easily. and it was in the news mind you.. how long til they say "oops how did that get out" or "someone raided our facility and stole the virus".. just never know. (umbrella corp? t-virus? even the zombie stuff being added into LE and Mil training?) |

| Just take a look at whats coming onto TV over the next few months. Seems the media is playing on this too. I think it is funny how all of those things are plausible and possibly looming over our heads and then you have shows like Revolution (based on a world where all electronic devices quit working) and Last Resort (based on a "rogue" submarine that refuses orders to fire Nukes) that come up. You could look at it either way..... either media knows shtf is looming and wants to inform people without directly informing people.... or they are just making money on what people are thinking of these days. I vote the latter but it is intriguing to say the least to see what the themes of some of the shows are as these troubling times and days progress!! |

so nothing really happend in october except hurricane sandy, which it remains to be seen if that is really a huge event in terms of catastrophe. i think the timing of it is definatly interesting, but what do yall think about that idea that the government/someone can really control the weather and whatnot? does it sound crazy? yes. but could it be true? i sure cant disprove/prove it so in my book its certainly plausible. i hear all the time the gov/military is about 20-30 years ahead of the technology that we know about today, and if weather modification was being attempted in the 70's who knows where were really at today?
you could always say that QE unlimited is a huge event (which i believe it will be in the long run, and not for the better) but that happend in september. im really suprised people dont pay attention to that instead of the two aholes lying to you in the debates, but that would require paying attention wouldnt it? |

| My initial intent was to ask if anybody knew of any lilegitamcy to these claims. Not to promote conspiracy in the government , it was more of a small feeling of paranoia. Weather your a veteran or non veteran or conspiracy theorist or not doesnt make any difference in the event of a catastrophe. I am neither but i dont look down upon peiple who are. I respect everyone for their views and beliefs thats what makes america, america(for the time being anyway). Please forgive me if i offended you veteran pride jusr because i chose a different path for myself. I only wanted some legitmate feedback on a question. |
