The ARF version of anything would be a large and very active traditional forum, and there aren't a lot of those left anywhere these days. On any topic. We're becoming kind of a blessed unicorn, in that sense (and we should be grateful for it). The spiritual replacement for a cooking-specific forum that's still indexed by Google and the like (because it's not paywalled or hidden behind a required login), would probably be one of several large food-related subreddits on...Reddit. |

I would just start finding and reading food and cooking subreddits - that's probably going to have the most user-generated traffic/interactions/posts/replies for research purposes. There are probably a ton of lively and useful discussions happening in private Facebook groups and Discord servers (as a guess), but...I won't be aware of them. Oh! One that does come to mind (but it's BBQ specific) are the forums over at amazingribs.com. Those are still pretty active, I think. IIRC, they limit the number of threads/pages you can read as a free user, but clearing cookies specific to their site would reset that counter. Or you could just pay for it.
