| I recently purchased a drum of double-boiled linseed oil with the hope of using it to finish my tongue and groove ceiling [pine] and my pine trim that has been stained with water-based stain. any plus's/minus's to this, tips tricks, etc. any and all help is appreciated. thanks |

Whatever you do, make absolute sure that the color of the wood is where you want it to be before applying the BLO, the BLO adds a minute amount of color itself so test a small piece first. Because once you start laying on the BLO, there's really no going back, that stuff will sink in deep, and you won't be able to modify the color with anything applied to the top, and even sanding it off will take 1/8"-1/4" before you get to the bottom of it and expose fresh wood. |

we're going to go with a very slight blue-green wash stain to help bring out the color of our walls [light green]. darker stain on base and door trim, darker hickory floor. trim will be blo,floor is prefinished. eta: 12 ft ceiling |

If you put up raw/unfinished pine TnG boards already and are just now trying to finish the one side of them...  Even if the ceiling is destined to be painted in the end - Most of the better builders will want those pine boards (at the bare minimum) primed on both sides before putting them up there. Wood is gonna move around over time as things around it 'change' and especially so if left unsealed. Some woods more than others... |
