What is the consensus on domed vs non-domed crystals? Been looking at new watches. The Black Bay 41 checks a lot of boxes but not sure about the domed crystal. The newer no date Seamsters are legit looking too, not domed but the ones I like don't come with the classic steel bracelet. |

| thanks for the replies. Maybe a nothing burger, though i do intend to daily wear this new watch and it would only be rotated with one or two others. I'm not overly concerned about scratching, I havent managed to damage any sapphire crystals yet and that was in my younger wilder days. |

Have you looked at Grand Seiko much? I'm really keyed in on the Tudor of late. I really like the new no-date Seamaster and I miss my 2254.50, that's why it's also on the list. Aluminum bezel is a bit of a concern on it, I'd rather the did ceramic like the others. Agree with your comments about different design language and respect your tastes, that's why there are so many options! Somehow these two are a cross-shop for me though despite their differences. |

They(GS) also offer automatic and standard quartz calibers as well. Their finishing, dials, and overall attention to detail has puts them on the same level as Rolex in many people's eyes. I might add that GS basically makes 3 types of movements…super high accuracy quartz, spring drive and automatic. I forget if they do a hand wind. They are all three premium in-house GS exclusive movements. Some might argue about their movement level being the best sub-$50k…..or maybe the best at any price. Their story is a bit hard to swallow for many because they are made in Japan and have very nature forward inspiration, but highly mechanized looks and finish. I really like that so many come on premium leather as I find leather the most wearable. |
