 I found this picture of a family member. I know if while he is in Vietnam. It looks like the patch says "25" and has a lightning bolt on it. Maybe it is 25th Infantry? But when i google 25th Infantry patches I dont see any that have the "25" on it. Can anyone identify it and tell me anything about it? Edit: So I did a little better searching and it looks like the patch is a 25th ARVN patch. Here is a picture from the ARVN museum.  The first picture that I posted is a family member who was part of the US Army while deployed in Vietnam. Is it unusual for him to be wearing a patch from the 25th ARVN? I do remember him saying that during one of his deployments he was "advising" non US military. If he was advising the 25th ARNV would he have worn one of their patches like in the picture? |

I found this picture of a US Colonel who was acting as an advisor to the 25th ARVN. It looks like he is wearing the same patch. So i guess the advisors wore the patch of who they were working with? I honestly didnt think US soldiers would put patches of other military's on their uniforms. But i guess it makes sense if you are working with a foreign group to have something that associates you to them.
