We are currently looking for a puppy to be a companion for our 5yr old female golden/spaniel mix girl. Last Thursday her pal (male German shepherd/australian shepherd mix male similar age) went to doggy heaven. He was a stray pup that showed up when she was about 8 months old. They were pals and got along great. We have found some golden/pyrenees pups 12wks old and there are two females that aren’t spoken for. I’m thinking that a male would be a safer bet.. but have no experience introducing a female pup to another female that’s 5yrs old. So hold out for a male or will the female pup be ok? |

Thanks for the replies fellas. After much discussion about this we went and picked up a male 8wk(for some reason I thought 12) old golden/pyrenees mix puppy last night. Our 5yr old dog loves him so far and has been playing with him. Even showed him where the water was. |
