My business website is currently hand coded HTML; I don't even know style sheets, so it looks like it's from the late 90's, but it's HTML 5 compliant. Have been mulling over becoming a drop-shipper for some time, and think I have my distributor picked out - they ship quickly and have a broad array of products to choose from, and I've had good service from them for more than two years. I recently saw an e-commerce website prototype that my buddy had an AI write, and it was so modern w/ all the bells & whistles, images scrolling, pop ups, it looked awful. That is NOT what I want. Which AI model would you use to write an e-commerce website that is simple and direct, with comprehensible code underneath so that I can easily modify it by hand later on? |

I would use Claude but I have a subscription. I have been getting good results with making the homepage in one prompt and then once it looks good having a second prompt code it into a child theme for 2025 block theme in wordpress. That would take you into the woocommerce route most easily. As for the unwanted stuff like popups and parallax. Just tell the prompt the style you want and give it your logo if you have one. If it adds something you do not like ask it to remove it before coding or using. |
