Just wanted to see where everyone is going for bike "for MTB and Road" parts? I have been trying to use my local store because they are locally owned but they have taken a swift turn in service. Thanks for any Info. |

Facebook, BUT: - gave up on regular “FB Marketplace.” Instead, there are two private, members-only FB marketplace groups here near DC. Much better with few to no scammers. Find a private FB group in your area. - Wheel and Sprocket is legit. - Steep & Cheap can be good; just know exactly what you are buying. - PinkBike is very good, though too many Canadian ads will waste your time. No offense to Canadians. It’s just that most of them won’t ship to the USA. |

If it's sub $100 I'll generally support my local store regardless of price difference. I'll give them a shot first at everything, but until I'm independently wealthy, I'll be trying to save money on the bigger stuff. Fox.com - generous vet/mil discount Specialized- generous Vets/mil discount Hayes/Reynolds/Manitou - Ok vet/mil discount Jensonusa.com for general stuff and closeouts, lots of coupons available. Performance Bike for hard to find parts Universal Cycles for closeouts , sign up for their newsletter for between 10-15% off most stuff, most months. |
| LBS, but Howler Bike Park has an excellent online shop, as does BikeTiresDirect. BTD's sister site for camping, Backcountry.com, is a great place to find camping gear deals too. |

I've built up 4 or 5 frame up mountain bikes in the last 8 or so years. I've bought and sold off pinkbike, fb marketplace, the fb regional bike parts trading groups and my 4 or so local bike shops plus hit local shops when I travel to Colorado in the summer. Fanatik and Lost Co out of Bellingham and Worldwide Cyclery generally have what I need when I shop online which is more than I'd like to admit. Like most I try to shop local first, but local often doesn't have what I want and can be slow and expensive to order from. |
