in '95, when I was waiting outside the lodge room wating to recieve my Master Mason degree a hispanic man was stationed outside to keep me company while waiting. I asked him if he was Catholic and if so, did he experience any resistance from his church to becomic a Mason. He said his 7 yr. old daughter had a medical condition that would be fatal without very expensive treatment that he couldn't afford. The Catholic church declined to help. The Masonic Scottish Rite Hospital brought in the world's best specialist and saved his daughter with no charge for treatment. The hispanic brother decided that day to dedicate himself to Masonry. He absolutely could not care less whether the church liked it or not. |
