At work, the default web page is MSN. So, every time I open a new tab, the MSN page always appears. Seems each time it opens there are numerous doom/gloom articles about the market. Don't recall seeing this many articles in the past even during the previous crashes or massive drops. But the past year or so there are so many doom/gloom articles out there. Been thinking about retirement lately and been paying closer attention to the market and wonder if this is just AI in the background posting more of these because I read one or two of them. |

Lots of talk how many of the companies are trading on P/E ratios way outside what they normally went for. Some of the biggest companies (NVDIA, meta/ etc) have just been sending money back and forth to each other so it looks like stuff is getting done but it’s the same as my brother and I each sending the other a $100 gift card at Christmas. Looks good but net zero growth. Couple this with the fact that a bajillion dollar super business (spaceX) has lost a full half of its market cap between highs a few weeks back and now. We are due/overdue for a pull back based on timing and whatnot but I believe the current admin will do everything they can to keep it propped up through the midterms but a 15% drop before it goes back to historical growth doesn’t seem out of the realm of possibility. |

| People are nervous, have a lot of anxiety. Anxious people click on such articles as they fret over whether they should be moving assets and to where. |
History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which Trump is always right.

| The majority of articles about the stock market are written to influence your behavior, not inform you. They're intended as self-fulfilling prophesies. The people who write them are trying to get you to help THEM make money. |

The Koreans are doing the best they can to crash the global market. They've been going crazy with 5x leveraged ETFs on single stocks to the point it's crashing their entire market which is basically 3 companies (Samsung, SK Hynix, LG). Also CHINA just had a big IPO on a memory/chip company which plans to flood the market with cheap shit to wash out these other greedy semi/chip companies. So if you were heavy in semiconductors/memory this week is pretty bad for you. All my stop losses hit today. |

This. Fundamentals don't matter until they do. Incestuous investment between AI groups isn't growth. The massive x massive capex amongst the group (while earnings are minimal) gives me concern. I think they're trading like meme stocks honestly. |

I didn't opt for 50% in CDs and MM as I felt I needed to be a little more aggressive to ensure money still grows enough for 4%-5% withdrawal. |
TBD
| The financial services industry doesn't make money unless you do something. They're not making money unless someone its buying, selling, etc. The more "news" they put out the more likely investors are going to trade. As Jack Bogle stated, "Don't just do something, sit there!" |

Financial media sure does love stirring the pot and with interest rates, geopolitical issues, ect it might not be unfounded. That said we’re on the backside of Q2 earnings season and something like 85% of the companies that have reported have beaten estimates. |

Ummm, lessee, (checks notes), it's August. So yeah, it's the month for doom and gloom articles. So are the other 11 months. When there is a correction, all you will see are articles about how there is possibly no bottom. I made a lot of money buying up $1 dollar stocks when articles like this were all the rage in 2009. You know, dog shit companies like Citi and Ford. The only exception will be if a prominent D needs reelection help. |

People who hate Trump see doom in gloom in everything. And its all they talk about. People who like Trump see optimism and are predicting bull markets. It really is as simple as that. Nobody knows what's going to happen. It really doesn't pay to pay attention or care. What I do know is the US economy and US markets are the strongest on Earth. There may be ups and down. But its going to be a long time before we get displaced. Treat any market down-turns as an opportunity to buy your favorite consumer item on sale. I auto buy Bitcoin and my core etfs every single money. Setting up auto transfers is the best thing I've ever done. |

But also shovel money in each paycheck so WHEN it comes over its previous ath, mine goes even higher. Also historically end of summer/September ends down. Like historically almost all the time. Ramps back up for the end of the year though. That’s my guess for the pattern to continue. |
