Just kidding. That was a teaser to get clicks. I've decided to put my meager monthly VA disability into a self directed investment account. I don't have any specific investment goals except to grow the account. I'm mostly interested in equities. I'm not a put/call kind of investor so I'm really just looking for specific stock suggestions. Fire away! |

I’m fond of VOO, SPMO, QQQM, VUG, and VONG. I tend to weight them in roughly that order. For individual stocks, the “what stocks are you currently buying, if any” thread might have some ideas, too. I’d start toward the last few pages of the thread. I hold a lot of individual stocks, but even my highest convictions have less confidence than in broad ETFs. NBIS, QCOM, HOOD, BRK.B, CRCL, AIRO, and MH, are currently below my cost basis, but I still beleive in them, so I’d consider them to be “on sale”, and I’m still buying to maintain or reach my target weights. Some of those are very volatile. |

I like FXAIX with Fidelity. S&P500 index fund. I have some invested in FDIVX for international exposure. What company are you investing with? I am not an investing expert so do your own research on my “recommendations”!!! |

I also like FXAIX in the account that I can buy it in. In fact, it makes up almost all of that account. SP500= VOO, SPY, FXAIX, and a few others. Pick based on expense ratio. Lower is better. FXAIX is a mutual fund instead of an ETF, which doesn’t really matter much to most people since its expense ratio is so low. I don’t think you can transfer it between most brokerages without liquidating first though. |
