The folding stock adapter was a lucky interaction with a guy online who was similarly TMP-crazy I guess and who had the wherewithal to make them happen! Eventually I "had" to get the TP9 shroud and can. I toyed with buying a B&T but since I had the SPP and kinda wanted the "original" it just evolved  I have the TMP fixed stock but the folding one is so much better that I never use the real deal.

I have full auto MP5's as well and use them occasionally. My tuned CMMG's are my goto especially for SMG matches. The MP5 shoots too fast for the SMG matches I go to. I want around 600 RPM and the MP5 even with a different locking piece isn't going to run that slow. Myself and a few others on Reddit have been tinkering with the CMMG RDB system in conjunction with using strong magnets to induce Eddy currents with the aluminum buffer tube: https://c3junkie.com/?page_id=4254 I don't like it to run this slow but this just shows you the extremes that you can tune it:  Slow Cyclic rate testing with 9mm CMMG RDB and Eddy currents  EddyCurrent 497 and 484RPM Pictures below need to be taken in context of other tests documented on my website above. There are some people running these with no buffer at all. Just some magnets. Super smooth but IMHO, not enough delay which results in broken hammer/trigger pins and some gouging of the cam relief area in the upper. The configuration I have pictured below uses the KAK DBC sliding carrier weight. Adding that removed trigger slap. Then the 25lb wave compression spring with opposing spacers prevents the wave spring from going solid height as well as allowing the magnet to also have some dead blow affect. With no traditional buffer, this setup has low reciprocating mass but we are adding mass to the carrier with the DBC but the total mass is still less than a typical setup. This is all a work in progress. I plan on running a few thousand rounds of suppressed full auto with the two configurations below and see how they hold up. For me my miniuzi MK9K M10 with a Lage 10/31 you can write your name with a suomi drum. Octane 9 Title one gun is the SP5 with the SS and Lee lower. Octane 9 I like,my scorpion evo but I have not shot it in maybe two years. And ya HOLY MOLLY have they gone up in price. |
I like the Kuna I SBR'd better than the AP5-P I had. Sounds great with the BOE IncoLite 9. Recoil impulse isn't as smooth and the "cool factor" of the MP5 style guns is higher, but I really appreciate the modernized controls and features of the Kuna. Plus, my AP5-P choked on flat nose 147 grain subsonic ammo. That was the tipping point for me. |

mp5 or mpx is the gold standard. Both shoot so nicely and are so quiet your wife and kids will like shooting them. mp5 is old-school cool and mpx is gas operated and AR-style modular. MPX have gotten very expensive though (almost as much as a genuine mp5) which is sad. The imported mp5 clones are much less expensive (only a bit more $$$ than top-end blowback guns) and work great. There are other gas/delayed blowback options, but they are much less common (which means parts/magazines are also less common) and don't hold resale value well. mp5/mpx hold their value pretty well if that is important to you. Blowback guns will be louder and not shoot as well due to jerky recoil. Their advantage is that they are simple and inexpensive. They are cheap, fun, work fine, and people love them until they shoot an mp5 or mpx. If you're buying new an mp5 clone is the easy choice. |
| MP5 clone or P320 Flux Raider. Been firing my Flux Raider with a Banish 9k a lot. It's a hoot. Been meaning to try the can on the MAC5. Just haven't done it yet. |

MP5 + FRT : get in touch with your inner 80s action hero. Your ammo fort will suffer mightily. Buddy of mine and I burned a lot of ammo last weekend. ROF is perfect, not a single malfunction, no unusual component wear that I can find… Accept no substitutes… MPX is also a hoot. |

Any of the MP5 variants with a FRT. Nothing else will come close, IMHO. Having said that, I will probably own another CZ Scorpion Evo when a reliable FRT becomes available for it. That was one gun that I absolutely hated shooting until we manufactured a full auto trigger pack for it (was 07/02 at the time). I don’t know why, but it completely changed the recoil impulse when shooting controlled bursts vs. semi-auto singles and made it a real joy to shoot. |
