What is the best hot dog brand? (Page 1 of 2)

I just tried Sahlen's Smokehouse Hot Dogs. They were pretty doggone good. I've also got a pack of Sabrett's to try another day. Attached File What is you favorite hot dog? |

| I like Nathan's but wife likes the cheap red hot dogs that normal size ones and the large sausage size ones. I tried an experiment one time when I had the deep fryer out. I deep fried a pack of Nathan's and a pack of her cheap hot dogs. The Nathan's were horrible but the cheap hot dogs were fantastic. I don't know why the cheaps deep fry better. |

These are pretty good too, somewhat larger than typical hot dogs and a more beefy taste than "hot dog". https://www.aldi.us/store/aldi/products/19995689-parkview-uncured-angus-beef-hot-dog-14-oz Eldercare for folks who can't hardly chew meant quite a few hot dogs (at their request) so I tried many different types including Nathans and Hebrew National as mentioned in this thread. I'd take those Oscar Mayer ones I linked above over either of them. |

Hebrew National. I used to work with a Muslim kid a few years ago; one day we were grilling burgers and dogs for lunch for everyone. He got reallllly weirded out when he heard somebody mention that the hotdogs were Hebrew National. He'd never heard of the brand and had never had a hot dog, I guess his family assumed they all had pork, and just avoided them. We finally convinced him they were all beef.  |

There are three or four different varieties, all with a natural casing, and I can confirm they are very tasty, especially the bacon & cheddar.  |

Usually Nathans, but Hebrew national or Oscar mayer beef are acceptable. On a s rosen poppy seed bun, plochman yellow mustard, vienna sport peppers, diced yellow onion and celery salt. And before you ask, I hate relish. I'll take the pickle spear and tomato on the side, thanks |

I bought about $100.00 worth of these today. They're rated very high for ingredients and taste. We're doing a cookout for Independence Day. I think these will do fine. I'm still trying other brands for my own personal knowledge. Attached File |

Mucke & Sons (Mucke's) out of CT are great, also always loved Kayem and Essem. Essem are made by Kayem now so the subtle difference between them may be gone. |
