I’ve been using USAA for years. I’ve disliked them for sometime but haven’t changed banks yet. There are several reasons for that. I have everything from insurance to credit cards through them. I would like to completely disconnect from them. Who do you all recommend?
I’m asking here because in a vet. I know there are a few line Navy Federal Credit Union that only take vets.

We recently switched to Ally Bank.

Decent interest rates, online bill pay, and everything so far seems to work okay.

A state chartered credit Union. Because they are not federally chartered they operate under more loose rules, at least in Pennsylvania.

And the small ones can be more flexible - I know full well that the underwriters bent the rules to give me a loan around the time of my divorce, when I needed to consolidate things but hadn't untangled what my wife had done to our finances.

They're verification questions on the phone are always funny as well. They will ask when I joined the credit union and I'll say "I think I was 10 when my dad got me my account so 45 or so years ago? What year was that?" Then they really slow ones will ask how my father qualified to be in the credit union? They get flustered when I say "how am I supposed to remember that far back?" And while they are sputtering I'll tell them. Which is funny, because I'm pretty sure their notes on my account don't have any of that information about my dad.

I use a small town one, they only have 2 branches, I have never had an issue with them. 12 years and counting. after they called me about a double payment (I did schedule) I thought to myself they watch withdraws that close. AWESOME; They now hold all my loans truck, RV and home. I can honestly say I have enjoyed them. I know everyone in each branch, and they call me by name when I do go in.

ETA: I was with Barksdale Fed CU. Garbage. If for some reason by statement was returned to sender. They charged my $7!!! WTF!!! GTFO

I've had US Bank for YEARS, well since it came to Missouri.
I've got several accounts with them and I've had several loans on Cars, houses, Campers, etc though them.

I can do everything I need to do, via the webpage or the app on my phone.
The few issues I've had can be counted on one hand and they were always able to solve it in minutes.

I've not seen anything another bank offered that I wanted or needed that they did not.

I've been using Navy Federal CU for the past couple of years.
I'm really happy with them.

Navy Federal Credit Union.

I dabbled in a local credit union for a couple of years after EAS and that was a bad move.

Another vote for Navy Federal Credit Union. I have had an account with USAA for about 30 years, bit do most of our banking with NFCU.

I switched from a local credit union I had belonged to for about 35 years to Navy Federal. I'm happy with them. Good service. Their customer support is in the US, not a call center in India.
