My wife and I were talking last night about the dynamics of this. A man lost his wife and grandchildren, a man lost his mother and his children, a woman lost her children and mother in law. The woman has a younger sister with her own kids, how is this going to affect them? My BIL and his wife are devastated, how does this affect their relationship with their other daughter and grandkids? The what if's are going to be brutal. If we didn't get married, they would be alive. If the mother hadn't taken them, they would be alive. So much guilt and blame, spread in so many directions. And heaven forbid if a drop of alcohol is found in Grandmothers system. Sorry, just rambling. |

The only gates I’ve seen on boat ramps are to close them when the water is too low. Beyond that, fair game. |

The Stumpfield Kayak Launch in Henniker, NH is the only other straight-shot ramp I can think of. Look at it on google maps and you can see it used to be the main road ...that now dips underwater for several hundred yards before continuing on the other side of the lake. The critical difference is that old Rt 202 is a backwater nothing that was bypassed decades ago, is very overgrown, and is mostly crumbled to gravel. No one is accidentally approaching it at speed. Roque Bluffs is a superhighway in comparison. |
