Just a thought from a outsider. It was clear from the two threads that this man was on a path to death. He is now in the care of the professional help he needs, and two communities are stepping up to help with the dogs. There is cause for optimism and hope. |

| This situation brings up my point of needing a second Fund available. If Mark is hospitalized he might now have access to the funds and I'll gladly send money to a different fund that would help cover costs of those willing to travel and help. Gas/Food/Lodging/Dog Stuff. |

Update: I just spoke with Mark. He may have had a stroke and the seizure may have triggered a heart attack. But he was talking coherently and he understood everything. I was able to tell him that the dogs are safe. We have an arfcommer who is at Mark's place at this moment. His name is Mike. Mike was the guy who fostered my dog Suzie. Mike is feeding and watering the dogs and tomorrow another arfcommer will arrive to help. Mark's doctor thinks that Mark may walk out of the hospital. But Mark will be there at least a week. In the meanwhile the dogs are safe. The first thing to do is to feed and take care of the dogs. Next we will catalogue the digs and post their pictures in order to get them adopted. |

I've spoken with a family member and Fluffy pulled a rabbit out of a hat and we spoke with Joker1. Predictably he was just worried about his dogs. Arfcommer is on scene talking care with food and water. Should have some pics tonight, will post. These dogs will need homes. I'm going to be there tomorrow. |

Thanks for the update Fluffy!!! I hope things continue to look good for him. I wasn't really looking for another dog at this point, but I'm willing to take another one of Mark's rescues and give them a good home if they don't end up otherwise claimed. My wife seems to have fallen in love with Jackson on the Facebook page (floppy eared German Shepherd) and she was discussing him with Mark back in March, so that would be an easy one for me. To the point about his personal dogs - if one of them needs a temporary home until he's out of the hospital and back on his feet, I'd be happy to do that too. I drove out and met him when I got Sabrina from him, so I could make that trip again. |

He did say he currently has 22 dogs but he will absolutely be keeping 6. So just gotta determine the 16 that are available and get them rehomed if possible. Thanks for the updates. Glad he got help before it was too late. |

I'm in Wilmington Ohio until sunday/monday (ish) before I drive home to NC. About an hour north of Cincinnati. I don't know if theres much I can do, even if its just stop at the hospital to check on him. He truly is doing to Lord's work. I had one of his shepherd rescues, Nala, before I lost her late last year. |

Prayers out to Joker1 ! Please make sure he knows that the people here are going to help him and his dogs. Hopefully when he comes home he can enlist some volunteers to help ease his workload, he needs assistance with doing this and I believe just a little bit of help can go A long way. Great that people have stepped up and donated my hats off to those people. PS: we just crossed paths with a abandoned male dog today. We saw it going to the store, we drove back and forth along the road looking to feed him, nothing. Just returned a 1 hour ago, found him off the road in a dirt path, very very thin, we left water and a can of wet food, he was eating and drinking so we will stop by twice tomorrow for a feeding and a check. The only two things that worries me is are his organs shutting down and it looks like bare bone at the top of his hip bones. Are we too late to save him? Hopefully we can contact the VI animal rescue people in the morning. |
| Wish I was closer, I'd definitely volunteer some time to help feed and play with the dogs. I can't take another dog in permanently but could board one temporarily if someone gets it to MN. Preferably a not too big or aggressive breed as my youngest brittany is a bully but doesn't realize he isn't tough. |

| There was a previous thread where Joker1 showed the non adoption dogs. Several had been abused and he was able to save them to have good lives. Those are the dogs he does not want to send to new homes. |

I’m super glad to hear that he is getting medical care. When I read yesterday that he was having trouble with his left arm the first thing I thought of was stroke. I wish that I lived closer so that I could help. |

Last update for the night: I've talked to the animal control officer for Joker1's county, and he's aware the dogs are being cared for. There is a sister rescue operation out of Georgia that is willing to help place/foster dogs who already knows Joker1 (and said to him before all of this  , if you die I'll kick your ass) that is interested in creating a gofundme, I'll follow up on that tomorrow after I check on dogs with Mike. Want a dog? Here's a thread to rescue one of the dogs We will take pics and create plan tomorrow. We are aware that Joker1 has special dogs he wants to keep. 2 are already secured and we're trying to figure out the other 4. 200# of kibble inbound. |

@lorazepam @FluffyTheCat And anyone else involved. As far as transportation... And encase this helps broaden possible adoptees. I got Bane from mark back in October. He told me when I was it, that there was not a system that worked out to get dogs to california. I dont know how many hours I spent looking for a trust worthy transport, but it was many. The first I went with had many good reviews, sent all info to Mark, we tried them. [$1200]<--thought with the price and reviews he would be safe. They couldn't have F'ed it up worse... Luckily before they had Bane. Pricing is all over the place, and it looked like a lot of unreliable van life types looking to pay for their trip. More hours looking found another that looked good, sent all info to Mark. Mark agreed to try. Mark met them at pickup, said he trusted them, and it worked out perfect. [$650] https://www.facebook.com/sandersonspettransportation/ I think husband wife team. $100 down through paypal, balance on delivery. She sent me an app to track them on the phone. They drive 24 hours trading off. Respond any time texted. I think 3 days from mark in Kentucky to me in northern california. I think they are animal people, not just transport. They took very good care of Bane. And spent enough time with him along the way to complement him the same Mark did. They post their next run map on their face book. Maybe a group run would work out in some way after adoptions are established, OR maybe just add to possible adoptees further out, and people that can't help in any way other than financially could pitch in to get it done?? Hopefully this info helps in some way. Going to also post in other thread encase its helpful. |
