Wow. Maybe reactions like this might have something to do with it? Rolex owner and dealers are often their own worst enemy, and I think most of it started when the resale market started pricing above the new market. It draws a different type of consumer. To be fair, I first ran into the stereotype even well before that. The prevalence of fakes doesn't help. I like that Rolex isn't resting on its laurels. The new Perpetual Padellone is an impressive watch. But, frankly, seeing that on someone'e wrist is very, very different than seeing a Sub or GMT Master. |
