Now?  The Dems (per the video posted above) are holding back all bills to delay any uprising until it's too late.  It's genius.  We rise when threatened, so they're going to postpone the threat until after Lobby Day.  Armed protesting has been outlawed - not that we're above doing it, but it comes at an extremely high price.  The new regime doesn't care at all what you have to say and most Virginians aren't on your side.  In fact, those that are "on your side" didn't even show up to vote.  Current day is slanted to high risk low reward.  There's literally nothing that goes in our favor this time.

What do we do?  We should probably fall back to more typical lobbying on Lobby Day 2026.  I'm not afraid of standing and being counted.  I'm not afraid of showing up armed and getting shot or arrested.  As with all things we do - it should be for the maximum value and the least cost.  The reality is that 2026 isn't the right venue as far as ROI.  I don't know when the next line to stand on occurs.

I still believe Lobby Day 2020 is the largest group of armed civilians that has ever gathered in defiance of a government and lived to tell about it.  I also believe that as we squared off with Virginia State Police (and others) and things were getting tense that POTUS's tweet in support of us saved the day.  I'm proud to have stood with all of you that were there that day.  We must be strategic about when and where we stand next.  I don't think Lobby Day 2026 is the place to make an armed stand.  That said, I truly wish I were wrong because I'd love to make a difference again.  Thousands of us earned our patch that day, and I know I still hold mine with great respect for those that stood together on that extremely cold January morning.

The persecution of people who went to Jan 6 was specifically designed to ensure people would never stand up again like Lobby Day 2020.  It raised the stakes dramatically.  It doesn't mean people won't stand.  Losing everything for a symbolic gesture changed everyone's math.  What the liberals don't understand is that it raised the stakes on their side too.  The people will still stand, but it won't be for a symbolic gesture - it will be for a tactical one.  They just removed one of the last peaceful gestures available to those of us that believe in the Constitution.  Said another way - "there are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge." The soap box represents exercising one's right to freedom of speech and assembly.  The ballot box is obvious.  The jury box represents using jury nullification.  They just took away the soap box.

Exactly. The people that constantly preach de-escalation just escalated the situation by taking away one of the peaceful steps in redressing of grievances with the government.

They are banking on it working in their favor. They'll probably win...right up until they don't.

In my situation I have said that if you are going to ruin my life and throw me in prison for peaceful protest, which they certainly did, then peaceful protest isn't an option anymore. Next time I'm going to get my monies worth.

I was a front and center face at lobby day 2020 and they absolutely went harder at me because of it in my J6 prosecution. THEY have changed the rules of the game. If you defy them and even HINT that you are prepared to resist them with force, all rules are void.

They might have locked up a few radicals over J6, they damn sure created a bunch.

They couldn't give 2 shits if PVC and 100,000 people in suits show up and beg to be heard. A person in a suit begging you to not take away his rights is about the most pathetic thing I can picture. They need to be hiding under desks scared shitless to dare infringe on our rights.

I'll gladly meet you all there again, when it's time to really redress our grievance. I'm a member of VCDL,the NRA, and I vote and write letters. Please don't get me wrong... We aren't there yet. But when we are...... I'm not wearing a suit.

You may have felt alone and abandoned when you were thrown in a jail cell and those of us here didn't know it. You are certainly not alone any longer.  Thank you for all you do and have done.  It was an honor to stand with you almost 6 years ago.  May your Thanksgiving Day tomorrow help make up for the lost years and inevitable damage done to your family.

ETA: the FBI tried to snatch me up after Jan 6 as well.  I did not go to DC for Jan 6, but my involvement in Lobby Day 2020 made me a target and I believe they came with multiple agents to take me away.  They positioned the visit as a potential buyer for my home and made an appointment.  I was armed and standing in the bed of my truck and opted not join them for a ride.  I now live on a private island with a heavy gate on the bridge and alligator filled waters all around me.  I occasionally have government vehicles sit on the mainland trying to figure out how to interact with me but haven't had any problems.  The message was sent and received, though.  Like you said, peaceful protest doesn't seem to make sense any longer.

Resistance to tyranny must be organized and active. It's time for those fire teams of trusted people to plan, and establish a secure network for sharing information. I think I said this in 2020, we need a new Committees of Correspondence.

The fact that such a movement would be targeted and attacked is immaterial. If tyranny is to be defeated, resistance must have organization or it will fail and tyranny will reign.

We live in an era of increasing authoritarianism. Tyrants overseas see it, and flex their muscles and increase their reach. Tyrants domestically see it, and work ceaselessly to remove limits to government power.

Do people even talk about the value of limited government anymore? Unfortunately, Republicans seem to just want their own brand of power for their own purposes, rather than restore liberty through hard limits on government power.

There are a number of trial balloons that were floated, but no actual legislation submitted yet.  The operating theory is, they will submit the bills after lobby day, to avoid a heavy turn out.  It also limits the opportunity for opposition.

It's more than speculation; patterns have been established.  The Dem House and Senate have passed gun control bills the past couple years, but Gov Youngkin has vetoed those bills.  Going forward, when the Dem House and Senate pass gun control bills, the Dem Gov will sign them.  They are not hiding this, or their love for gun control, but they are being quiet about bill specifics so far.

No, it's all speculation, because they haven't taken office yet.

Those who won in the last election will take office in January, which is when they will also hold their first legislative session. Expect bills to be introduced in both houses that month and potentially signed into law by the governor shortly thereafter, with an effective date months later.  In recent years, many laws passed in that winter session went into effect on July 1st

“GUN VIOLENCE” from vcdl newsletter

From member David L.:

I recently read an editorial from Tangle that called out gun violence as one of the problems in America. My first thought was that I had never seen a violent gun, just violent people. But I decided to take a look at the Pew Research report on the topic. Yes, Mark Twain was right, “there are three types of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.” Although the article about the report started with “Nearly 47,000 people died of gun-related injuries in the United States in 2023…” further reading gave the lie to the gun violence argument.

Of the cited 46,728 gun related deaths in 2023, 58% (27,300) were suicides. As a trained suicide prevention specialist, I can say without reservation that suicide is a mental health problem, not a gun problem. If someone runs their car in the garage until they die of carbon monoxide, we don’t call it car violence.

That leaves 19,428 gun related deaths, 38% (17,927) of which were murders. Murder is a crime that by definition involves a degree of human insanity which, again, puts it in the mental health category. Moreover, murder can be committed with anything from a rock to a poison pill, but only guns get the violence label. After all, when is the last time you read a headline about rock violence or arsenic violence?

That leaves 1,501 U.S. gun related deaths in 2023. This remaining 3% is made up of 604 law enforcement related deaths, 463 accidents, and 434 undetermined circumstances.

So out of 46,728 deaths, not a single one can be determined to be the result of a violent gun, just people battling mental health issues, enforcing the law, or just being careless.

Pew Research Article: https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2025/03/05/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-us/#what-share-of-u-s-gun-deaths-are-murders-what-share-are-suicides

I would have to think that since their last attempt at Universal Background Checks for private sales was recently stopped as it was judged to be in violation of the Virginia Constitution, they are going to find a way around that as quickly as possible. And again make UBCs the law of the state. God knows what else.  I would think a mag ban is high on the list.

It was an emphatic, implicit statement on LD2020 that if that crowd had wanted to, they could have literally overthrown the Virginia state government that day.

That marks a huge difference between simple protest gatherings and what happened on Lobby Day five years ago.

There is a vast class of people that are 'part of the Establishment;' that is, people who are elected, appointed, and employed staff of governments at all levels. That class is threatened at an existential level by the prospect of any kind of revolution, and so they will do anything to avoid that outcome. But the basic human reality remains, that government made up of people are intrinsically self-interested first and foremost, that government as an institution is self-serving, self-dealing, and whose first priority is the maintenance of that ruling class. As such, limits on government power are sometimes inconvenient and sometimes intolerable.

We know, from history and study, that the sole protection of freedom lies in limitations on government power. That's an irreconcilable tension. Or in other words, freedom is never secure, its preservation must be fought for in every generation. No exceptions. Any generation that doesn't vigorously work to preserve liberty passes less of it on to the next generation. Little by little, government becomes more tyrannical over time. You could say it's a historical inevitability.

So what, we wait for them to pass it and show up LD '27? That seems counterintuitive.

Doesn't seem like there is any kind of plan other than to hope for the VCDL to win in the courts, which doesn't help in the interim.

NoVa is a plague (and I live here).

4 counties and 5 tiny little incorporated “cities”, all being chock full of .gov employees, and feeder/ leech industry fucktards, blue haired nose ringed leftists and a shit ton of immigrants (legal and illegal),  decide the direction of the Commonwealth as a whole.  Say what you will about Charlottesville, the Tidewater/ Hamptons Roads area - but Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William counties along with Alexandria. Falls Church, Fairfax city and Manassas/ Manassas Park decide the fate of elections.

This area:

And probably 70% of the residents work for FedGov or an industry that supports FedGov. They lean heavily left.   And alllll those people, by way of Schumer and the Dems very intentional and successful plan, were furloughed, not being paid and otherwise incentivized to just stew, stump, get pissed off and VOTE.

Combine that with a lazy, apathetic, and absolutely USELESS Republican Party of Virginia, who couldn’t be bothered to put candidates into every race, an electorate body that couldn’t be bothered to get off their asses to vote; a more than decent chance of cheating and with the whip cream and cherry on top being an unelectable GOP candidate with some of the WORST advisors possible.

And here we are.

It wasn’t always this way.  I’ve been in PWC for 20 years.  The Board of Supervisors was largely Republican until 2019 when Queen Ann of the Datacenters and that tranny got on.

From Connaughton to Corey Stewart.  Stewart upset a lot of liberals back in ‘07/08 when he purged the county of illegals.  It was glorious.

Then Obama hit the scene, and following GWB, further grew FedGov, which I truly believe was intended to saturate the area with fellow travelers.  The hangers-on and parasites (looking at you, K Street workers) and all those new leftist government workers needed somewhere to live.  So they moved to NoVa.  And now we have avowed communists, trannys and all sorts of leftist Garbage Pail Kids running things.

The stay at home wine moms all vote for new Denali Tahoes and Escalades every year, and whoever benefits their FedGov cuck “husbands” paycheck. They get what they need during the weekdays from their “personal trainers”.

Youngkin was an anomaly.  McAweful opened his mouth too early.

So, now, we have a CIA asset deep stater socialist as governor (lower case intentional), a far left Hamas supporting jihadist in modern womens clothes as lieutenant, and a fucking straight up violent communist as AG who wants to kill republicans and their kids.   The speaker is a god damned race baiting, convicted drug dealing shitbag retard of epic proportions.  The state senate president pro-tempore might as well be a living embodiment/ personification of the most vile white supremacist memes ever.  She proves there’s truth in basis of stereotypes.

It’s an uphill fight, but we can’t afford to NOT battle it out.

About 3 years ago we here in Illinois went through this same scenario that Virginia is facing, with a newly elected super-majority Legislature (most elected out of Chicagoland where the majority of the population is) and a re-elected marxist Chicago born Governor who immediately passed radical "assault weapon" and magazine bans in the middle of the night.  All I can remember reading on this site was my state being called "Illannoy", plenty of smart asses spouting "move to a free state!" and "you voted for it so you deserve it" and "you got what you voted for!" and other shit like "who gives a fuck about Illannoy!"

Now the shoe is on the other foot and Virginia appears to be going down for the count for the exact same reasons Illinois was fucked: a highly marxist large population metropolis full of radical liberals electing other radical marxist's into high office.  All of a sudden, it's the end of the United States, Freedom and apple pie and we need to start Civil War II right quick like.  I could be an asshole like too many GDers are and say, "Move to a free state!" or "Who gives a fuck about Virginland?", but I won't do that because I am not an asshole.

This is all coming nationwide because, unlike what GD tries to tell us, the country is moving Left much faster than we thought.  We are being out-voted, over run and legislated out of existence at the state levels right now and much of that is because of the un-hinged Trump hate.  It's highly likely that we will lose Congress next year.  Imagine the implications of a democrat-controlled Congress with Trump in office, after the things he has said and done just in the last year.  Impeachment will be a side show compared to what they will come up with.  Then 2028 is right around the corner and I think most of us know how badly that could go.

I hope Texas doesn't go Blue or GD might literally explode right out of the computer screen.

And this is the crux of the conversation  right here.

It's not just that there's not enough folks in any given state to resist what's happening,  it's a national problem.

You live in a "free state" now but what these folks don't understand is how cancerous this problem is. And by the time they do there are no more free states to run to.

The quote "We all stand together or we shall all certainly hang separately" has never been more true than now.

But the country as a whole doesn't seem to care, much less individual states.

You’re not coming across as an asshole at all.

As a guy born and raised in Massachusetts, I can relate.  I feel you.   And I’ve never uttered the “mOvE tO a FrEeStAtE” bullshit - because that’s what it is - bullshit.

What you are missing though, is Virginia is different.

We’re not the northeast or Midwest or left coast.  We’re not the Deep South.

Virginia is where this country truly began (I don’t say this lightly - see my username).  Virginia is RICH in American history.  Good and bad.  Jamestown settlers to the revolution to the civil war all the way to LD’20. Virginia represents the Mason-Dixon Line.  We were the capital of the Confederacy. Virginia is the birthplace of more presidents than any other state (8).  We have eastern shore people speaking with the last vestige of colonial accents, Appalachian Americans, suburbanites, flatlands, city slickers, good ‘ol boys, straight up rednecks, lots of shoreline filled with modern day would-be privateers (raises hand), and some of the most beautiful scenic scapes ever to grace a lense.

In 1865, with the Oyster Wars not going how he wanted, our governor (William Cameron) manned a tugboat as a privateer to battle those filthy Marylanders stealing our oysters.  He took 7 boats as prizes and imprisoned 40 some-odd Maryland pirates.  That’s how Virginia rolls.

If that’s not worth fighting for, I don’t know what is.

The Commonwealth is, was, and will forever be, FULL of good and decent, God fearing Americans.  NoVa just has more FedGov commies now than can be overcome with just regular effort.  We were a “free state” 5 years ago.  Less so, 25 years ago.  Virginia is odd in that its politics ebb and flood like a bi-diurnal tide.  We’re very much in a Mean Low Low state now.   Heavily influenced as the bedroom community of Federal Goverment workers and politicians. Langley (CIA) is in Fairfax County VA. The FBI  has a decent footprint campus here too (Manassas/ Prince William County VA).  Virginia is most often oppositional in gubernatorial elections vs POTUS party.

Virginia is different.  Not making light of our Illinois brothers plight, but Virginia is just.. different.  As goes Virginia, so goes the Republic.

We can all disagree on things, but in the end - it’s very much like warring brothers or cousins - we’ll fight with each other, but if someone dares to step in - we align and entirely focus our total fight against them.

Americans are just that. Americans.   And we need to stand up and fight for our brethren in occupied territories.

Leftism is a cancer and it needs to be cut out entirely and eliminated.
