I think there are two different shipping discussions. A. Parts, such as uppers, BCG’s, barrels, ten round mags etc etc, that are not banned by the AWB, but could be used to make a prohibited item. B. Guns and mags that are now banned but maybe sorta okay in some counties under the injunctions. A. are legal items that could bring a potential lawsuit. Many companies have just added a box to check so you can certify you are using the parts legally. Others have stopped shipping anything. We knew this was coming, but I’m still disappointed. B. are in a murky legal area. Unless there’s a stronger injunction, I would be surprised at anyone selling “banned” items. |

I saw him at my LGS picking up a pistol transfer. I did a double take and then asked the guy at the counter, "Holy shit. Is that Justice Thomas?" He just smiled and said, Yup. A store employee asked for a photo with him but his security said no. |

Are you familiar with the process of granting cert? Do you believe that Thomas can do it by himself? Do you have examples of Thomas voting against cert for an AWB case? |

| Has an order been entered on the Washington County injunction yet? I've seen the letter opinion, but the actual order is the key, as its terms are what actually control. |

It is pretty typical for the lawyers to take a few days (or weeks) to negotiate on the actual order after the court rules, and sometimes you have to go back for a second hearing to argue about the order. It is bugging me that people keep claiming the injunction has been entered when it has not. |

Now we know why they delayed the AF OC law until ‘27. https://archive.ph/er8CB Virginia’s new ban on the open carry of assault weapons in public places has been delayed for a year because it would have created a serious unintended consequence: legalizing the open carry of guns equipped with large capacity detachable magazines where it is now prohibited. Under the current law, it is illegal in eight cities and five counties, including Richmond and Henrico, to openly carry in public a loaded semiautomatic rifle or pistol that is equipped with a magazine that will hold more than 20 rounds of ammunition, or a shotgun that can hold more than seven rounds. The new open carry law, passed by the General Assembly this year, expands the ban to cover statewide and refers to another new law for its definition of an assault weapon. But using that definition restricts the prohibition on open carry to “fixed” magazine weapons, therefore legalizing the open carry of guns equipped with large-capacity detachable magazines. |

Jay "Two Bullets" Jones and his office are amateurs. Not that I like the laws, but they couldn't find the circular logic in the new laws as they were being written. That's what happens when you throw spaghetti at the walls. Perhaps the good news is that there are a lot of holes for us to attack in court, with the overall constitutional violations being the most obvious. |

A three-judge panel declined to consolidate the lawsuits against the assault weapons ban in Virginia. "Separate cases have already presented arguments and declarations on the issue of whether a preliminary injunction should be granted in the various jurisdictions where the cases are filed," the ruling from the panel states. "Further the courts have ruled on those preliminary injunctions in three of the four cases. It is too late to properly prevent inconsistent rulings." https://www.virginiascope.com/three-judge-panel-declines-to-consolidate-gun-lawsuits/ |
