I had a TCL phone that went TI a few days ago. It "sorta" turns on: it buzzes and sometimes makes a "turning on" sound but the screen doesn't light up. Thanks to the generosity of a member (BooJangles), I now have a used Samsung phone. I've transferred the SIM card. The Samsung now has basic functionality but none of the files (notes, phone numbers, etc). I need to know how to access the backed-up files from my TCL phone and get them onto my Samsung. Where do I go in Google to get these files? |

| Sign into your Google account on the new phone and games near everything will be available again. The exceptions are things that were *only* stored in your old phones memory, and if you are part of the Google universe there isn't much of that. |

| If your old phone was working, you could transfer over USB cable. Since it's not, you can only restore what's backed up in your Google account. When you add your Google account to the Samsung, it should give you the option to import. If not, or you clicked past it, go to Settings then Accounts and backup after logging into your Google account on the phone. |

Hokay... I woke up yesterday and EVERYTHING of major importance was transferred! Mostly my phone contacts and most of my important apps. Interesting though, my AR15 logon app wasn't transferred! Nor were my notes. I think it's because I finally got through to Google and everything got updated from my old phone. Question: is there somewhere that a file is stored where I could download or c&p my notes? |

If it doesn't connect, it's likely because the phone won't boot far enough or, if it's just a dead screen, you can't acknowledge the pop-up that asks if you want to allow the computer to connect. In either case I don't have any solutions. |

Okay it 's working pretty well now. I got most of my data back. Now, Norton is going crazy telling me how much I need it. Is there a less-expensive alternative to Norton? |

Shadowbanning is a thing on their platforms - they've just come out & said they're going to allow YouTubers who were banned for political reasons back on.
