Trump has committed the unpardonable sin of politics - he has taken more money out of my pocket.  When you start screwing with my family finances, you get on my bad side.  I'm angry and I feel betrayed.  Right now, I'm paying more for everything.  Not one thing I regularly buy has gone down in price.  The only other time we've had to watch out spending this closely was when I was out of work 25 years ago!

People are angry at Trump and rightly so.  Remember the stickers of Biden saying "I did that" at gas pumps?  Trump versions are showing up now.

The mid terms are going to be a blood bath for the Republicans. And rightly so.  Americans are angry.  For those still on the Trump train, that's fine.  But the bridge ahead is out and the Trump train is going full speed.

I think like a lot of things in the political space in this country, that's a narrative being pushed and younger people (i'm in my 40s) are way more exposed to it because of social media use.

Israel is not our enemy, but they aren't loyal friends above all else either. They will look out for themselves first.  America has no friends, that's part of the package of being the global hegemon. Everyone looks to get the most they can from a relationship with the US.  That's not new.

Europe, Canada, China, India...the ME...they are all relationships based on what we can get from each other.  That's how it works.

The notion that the US was lead into a war by Israel is horseshit.  Trump told Bibi to sit down and shut the fuck up multiple times....in diplomatic speak, in public.  Bibi isn't running anything. He does what Trump tells him to do where it effects the US.   Israel will also do what it feels it must to protect itself, and they won't apologize for that.

The Israel hate is a strong leftist agenda that is being pushed harder than anything I've seen since Russia gate. The JE stuff feeds into that as well.  You can't convince people they are being mislead.  It's impossible.

Israel is an ally of convenience, they aren't loyal, they aren't friends, they are friendly until it doesn't serve their purpose, welcome to the big world. Every nation is like that.

If Biden enacted the exact same policies, y'all would've been at him with pitchforks and torches not because they're bad, but just because of who's doing them. Don't misunderstand me, I despised that slimy, POS career politician. But you gobble up bullshit just because it's coming from Trump. You claim everything he does is great and exactly what you wanted even if it's the legit opposite of what you elected him for.

Just be honest and consistent. I know it's hard. Actually, no, I don't think it is. But it seems really hard for a lot of people.

Gas just hit $5 a gallon here yesterday.  Anything coming from overseas now has a tariff enhancement cost. Even if it’s an antique or historical item.  Illegals are everywhere, was in Aurora, Illinois at an outlet mall a few weeks ago.  Almost no one spoke English there.  Going to the grocery stores costs me an extra hundred at least in the last year.  Going to any restaurant anywhere is double the price in the last few years.

Memes like that don’t exist because some people are critical of Trump. They exist because stereotypes are fun, and usually truthful.

“I voted for Trump 3 times, but” is often the pretext before a long winded overly dramatic rant. It’s also often code, for “I’m actually a TGO on a gun website” but know admitting it would get you roasted for your beliefs, as you should be.

Exactly. Most of the sheep on here blindly following him are just as bad as the Biden supporters.

I'm a lifelong republican, as are many of my friends. In the real world, the people I'm surrounded by are disgusted by the way things are going. Trump's a lifelong Democrat who is running this country into the ground like most Democrats want to do.

As a huge 2A supporter who prioritizes that as one of my main issues, I'm happy right now. However, most of America doesn't feel as strongly about it as I do. They care about the economy, how much things cost in relation to their salary, etc.

Things are rough for a lot of America right now. Real inflation (not the bs numbers the government provides) is insane and keeps getting worse. It's far outpaced salaries and a lot of people are struggling. The boomers care less because they are already set up, but a significant portion of the younger generation can't afford houses, can't afford food, can't afford a decent car, etc. and they are fed up. It's definitely not making them want to continue voting Republican.

Conservatives are secretly the biggest bitches in this country.

The notion that anyone with a functioning brain can live through what we lived through under biden, saw the trajectory and is willing to vote those unamerican pieces of shit back into office is fucking insane.

The threat is clear and present, but you're butt hurt over something that isn't existential..... so we'll show them by fucking ourselves over as hard as possible and ruining this country for generations.

I wouldn't care if we were charting some unknown path, trying some ideas that no one has tried, but that's not the case.  The world is full of the ideas progressives love and it's destroying every place where it's being tried.   All we have to do is look.

You are willing to destroy everything good we have, because you don't like a few relatively minor aspects.

That's emotional voting, not logical voting.

Yes. Despite what many say. You can both hate Iran, want their death and destruction. And also not care even the slightest bit about Israel. Frankly, until Americans are willing to stomach what’s needed to deal with Iran permanently. We should stay out of the way, pop some popcorn, and enjoy the show while Israel levels Palestine, Iran, and the rest of their neighbors. If we can sell them the bombs at profit, all the better.

This is a solid take. All the EO’s signed will be undone the second a Dem enters the office, hell maybe another republican if we ever have another.

The border is objectively his best accomplishment because it stopped the hemorrhaging but the wound is still open due to lack of mass deportations. That of course can be ramped up, if you’d target employers for hiring illegals.

OP, you won't get much love on here for your post, but I agree with you.  Trump has screwed the pooch.  Iran has become Trump's bridge too far.

I voted for Trump three times.  I voted based on his first term.  I feel like I got sold a bill of goods.  Trump's second term has made me so angry that I left the Republican party after 45 years of being a Republican.  I'm an independent now.

The word that comes to mind when I read these posts is 'selfishness.' Absolutely no concern with the bigger picture if it effects them negatively financially.

Selfishness? Trump’s net worth has reportedly climbed and he bragged about making billionaires money with his “reciprocal” tariffs market swings. (Reciprocal is in quotes because we our tariffs were higher after Trump’s adjustments.) Meanwhile every American is paying more for food, for fuel, and for goods while Trump lauds making his income tax cuts permanent; raising taxes on importers (and the consumer indirectly through tariffs); getting into costly trade wars with our biggest trade partners; undercutting our farmers with cheap foreign beef; wasting tax payer money renaming things; and pressuring the Federal Reserve to lower interest rates when they needed to raise them due to the still high inflation.

This is all bad news for ordinary Americans and someone pointing out that Trump 1.0 was better than Trump 2.0 for almost everyone who isn’t a 100 millionaire or billionaire is hardly being selfish, no?

Tell us genius what’s the “bigger picture”?  Because that picture is showing to me to be a marxist controlled government in the very near future.

We just left that.

I see Trump signing a lot of EO’s, but not so many laws. Executive fiat is not how our government is supposed to work. Obama did a bunch of EO’s and we conservatives rightly criticized him for it, but if Trump does it, we’re supposed to blame Congress, right?

Almost no one here is voting for a Democrat. People who are more conservative than Trump who don’t like Trump’s less conservative governance and policies aren’t going to go vote for the even less agreeable Democrat.

It’s the swing voter that will decide the midterms, not the disaffected conservatives. In 2018, I don’t think the Republicans had done anything to justify the Blue Wave and the Democrats certainly didn’t do anything to make a good case for them winning the House. But in 2026, the Republicans have stepped in it and their only potential saving grace is that the Democrats are even less popular and even further left now than in 2018.

Did Trump fuck your girlfriend or something?   I get the criticisms, he deserves them to a degree, but you just offered up two of the worst politicians in recent memory.   We'd have open borders forever with either one of them.  And frankly open borders are the biggest risk to every aspect of this nation.   The #1 existential threat.   We must have border control, then we can deal with everything else.

Okay, they're insane. But if they vote the legislatures back to D control come the midterms, then what? Is name slinging going to fix anything? Managing things well enough to motivate voters to stay the course should've been in the calculus. I was all for finishing off the IRGC, but we paused a month into it & gave them enough room to survive. Why? It would appear that the administration's wasn't willing to do the needful. Why not continue to pound them until they surrender unconditionally? The people were all for it. It's looking like Vance, Gabbard, & Rubio were right to advise against getting into this. If nothing else, there's no stomach for it. Not really, anyway.
