The reason for the panic is because on January 3, 2013, the "First Day of Congress" a democrate by the name of Dianne Feinstein is to Introduce a new Assault Weapons Ban bill. It is rumored to be modeled after the most recent H.R.1022 bill that was posted in 2007 which Bans all `semiautomatic assault weapons' You can read the full, most current version of the bill here.
this bill defines assault weapons as: (D) A semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine, and that has-- `(i) a folding or telescoping stock; `(ii) a threaded barrel; `(iii) a pistol grip; `(iv) a forward grip; or `(v) a barrel shroud. Also the bill bans `(G) A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds. `(H) A semiautomatic shotgun that has-- `(i) a folding or telescoping stock; `(ii) a pistol grip; `(iii) the ability to accept a detachable magazine; or `(iv) a fixed magazine capacity of more than 5 rounds. `(I) A shotgun with a revolving cylinder. So that is all weapons with a Pistol grip, folding stock, Semiautomatic pistols, shotguns primarily used for law enforcement and more; like ruger 10/22....yes even your .22 is now considered an assault weapon. However because of this bill and this Dianne Feinstein individual proposing another Bill in January; I understand why the panic is going on. If i had more money I would buy everything I could. I do not want to contribute to the panic however I feel that if more people knew about this bill then the second that everyone knows that the bill got voted "no" then this "panic" would stop very quickly. We have two options: Do nothing and hope the bill gets denied. Or write your senator and contribute to the cause of protecting our 2nd amendment rights. Ill be honest. This is the first time I have ever written my senator about anything. There is a first time for everything. |

No it will not.
No FIREARM that has a detachable magazine "feeding" device will be safe. According to the bill, any firearm that has the capibility of accepting a feeding device that holds more than ten rounds will be on the ban list and subjuet to NFA registration. Thnk about it, if you have a Cz 22LR rifle that uses a 5 shot mag, you or anyone could machine or manufactur a high cap mag that could "pottentially fit' into that Cz 22LR rifle, get it. Also, The current NFA fee is $ 200.00 and takes 6-8 months, under Feinstein's bill, there is no mention of how high that federal fee will be, and we all know it can be much higher. How long do you think it will take to clear a NFA Form 4 after the bill is passed. How many lawless people have legally aquired and registered firearms now?? This is a death bill for the lawfull |
