We booked a trip for Spring Break with the kids- ironically it was my wife's idea. She wanted to take the kids to an interactive Christian exhibit.

When we originally booked the trip, I had literally asked God to "show me exactly what I am supposed to do. YOU made me to be a skeptical, analytical person. I am trying to know You. Just show me what your purpose for me. Show me what you want me to do and I'll do it!". No more than an hour later, just as I arrived at work, my wife sent me a link to the Christian exhibit. We booked the trip then and there, and I figured "Thanks for the sign God, I heard you loud and clear!". Mind you, this exhibit is 7 hours away and we decided to make a little family vacation out of it.

My wife has been caring for her grandma, who is on hospice. Well, Granny took a turn for the worst late last week, and I have been extremely frustrated because I'm getting mixed feelings. My wife, aside from working full time as a nurse and being a wife and mother, is also holding down the fort as a full time caregiver for Granny. My wife is running on 4 hours of sleep at a time, and has been doing so since Friday taking care of Granny and also making sure Grandpa is doing alright.

We are supposed to be on our way to Branson quite literally right now (remember, we booked the entire trip because I felt God maybe answered my call for direction). Well now, we're basically taking the idea of the trip one day at a time, with a high likelihood of cancelling it.

I guess I'm just venting a bit, but the verse definitely applies today (usually they're abstract verses that don't really have much direct meaning in my day to day life).

We're doing our best to follow God's direction, but I'm a little frustrated with Him at the moment.

Granny is not getting better, but if anybody could say a quick prayer for her forgiveness and for her to receive the gift of Heaven, that would be much appreciated. She is legitimately the most selfless and kind woman you could ever meet, but I know just being a great person isn't enough to make the cut. I have spoken with her about Jesus, but a few extra prayers never hurt anybody.

Jesus, please forgive Granny for her sins, and accept her into Your Kingdom when her place is prepared. Amen.
