The kentucky owl is a great pick up.  Very good IMO.  A little pricey; around here its about $120/bottle

I recently tried a bottle of this stuff, locally produced. Price point was $57.99 which in my opinion is overpriced, it's good but I'd take a bottle of ER 10 (when you can find it) for $30 every time. I'm going to need to pick up another bottle of something.

Evan Williams white label, 100 proof, bottled in bond, is some of the best bourbon for the money that Ive ever tried. Im sipping it right now in fact.

Currently have a bottle of makers select. That’s the single barrel store pick.   It’s amazing.

I propose we meet halfway between Alabama and Arizona.

I’ll even bring glasses. At least one will be clean.

Good idea, OP!

I found that I liked bourbon about 5 or so years ago.  My now wife took me on a trip to Kentucky where we did most of the bourbon trail.  It was a great experience!

My favorite bourbons are, in no particular order, Woodford Reserve, Blantons, Four Roses (single barrel or small batch), Bulleit Rye, Maker's Mark Private Select and Knob Creak Single Barrel.

Current stock.
Bulleit is probably the one I turn to as a buy in bulk and overall go to.
Elijah Craig is one of my favorites.
Moonrise is a distillery in Clayton, GA that's distilling Kentucky style bourbon.  Owner is from Kentucky and learned there.

I also enjoy Woodford reserve and 1792 when I want something different from my normal.

I actuality, I'm not really picky and will drink just about any bourbon at least once.
Have split bottles of Larceny, Old Crow, Old Forester, Maker's, and numerous others with @sourtherncross and even drank Peanut Butter Flavored whiskey with @KaiK

We reorganized the liquor a few weeks ago, this is just the whiskey:

With everything else, the decanter is Jim Beam white label, there is a pallet in the shop with several cases of that on it

ETA:  Jim Beam is my regular mixer, I do like Bulliet and I think the 1792 Small Batch is quite good at it's price point.

Agreed. I tried to like Eagle Rare. Last time I tasted Buffalo Trace i was dissappointed. I do like the Weller products though , problem is they are like unicorns around here. Very Old Barton 100 proof is good , but I think only sold in Kentucky(bought it while on vacation)
Knob Creek Single Barrel and 4 Roses Single Barrel are hard to top

I won the lottery and paid retail. Ironically, I was on hiatus from drinking at the time. Sat in my cupboard for awhile but I decided to attack some debt a few months ago and sold it, along with a bunch of guns, ammo, optics. As fortunate as I was to have it, I know I’d never really appreciate it.

In the meantime, I’m really enjoying Four Roses small batch, Broichladich, and Balvenie for $28 to $60 per bottle.

Might be time to go back on drinking hiatus...

Im sure it’s good, but 23 years is a long ass time for bourbon to be aged.

I had the opportunity to try Evan Williams 23 at Heaven Hills and it was miraculous. I hadn’t even really developed a taste for bourbon then but it was excellent. Not too oaky but smooth and mildly sweet. I’m still kicking myself for not buying a bottle back then, but $400 was a steep price for a bottle then as it is now.

its wierd.. i was not the biggest fan either.. but my wife got me a super spicy one once as a gift.. about 1/3 down it kinda rewrote my palate.  sort of like when i first broke my tongue with a double IPA.. half way through the bottle my buddy gave me(I was a stout only person at that time)  I really started liking it.. never looked back.

If you wanted to push it to the fall, we could combine it with the machine gun shoot at Knob Creek?

All my Blanton's, EH Taylor, Woodford, etc. stays on the shelf nowadays. This is all I've been drinking lately. Best value in bourbon, IMO.

I got to try the 18 year old at a Heaven and Evan tour a couple years ago, we dipped it straight from the barrel in the rick house.  And yeah, I too am still kicking myself for not getting a bottle of it but that trip was expensive enough without dropping a couple hundred more for a single bottle.

Is the EH Taylor easy to come by in AZ?
That is one of my favorites and it is only available for a short time here in PA each year.
Just asking, because we're looking to move to AZ and that would be the icing on the cake!

@bigborehound EHT seems to be more widely available than any Weller product. But because every hard to find bourbon is in demand it is hard to find it at retail here. SB or SiB is about $99. I've seen it way higher as well. Buffalo Trace is like water out here, plenty to be found.

Nothing hard to find is retail in Yuma. It wasn't full blown secondary but a good price for all three. I'm good friends with the owner so he held those 3 bottles for me.

Weller is retarded popular here in PHX area.

When the EH Taylor is available, the Small Batch is $36 and the Single is $69. Weller is pretty much all lottery here anymore.
