The rear PASM shocks were starting to leak on my GT4 and those alone are about $4k for a pair and that's just the parts, the PASM engine mounts are similar in price and 10 years seem to be the time frame on when they'll need replacing. Hell, the cupholder on my car (same for 991/981) is $2800 if you have carbon fiber trim. I regret big time selling my 79' SC, I still stay in touch with the guy whop bought it and he seems to love it. Oh well, the GT4 is an amazing car and a truck load of fun to drive, happy that I got to own it. |

I'm really enjoying the 911 C2S, but sometimes I have a bit of buyers remorse. A number of guys I drive with run GT4RS cars and those things sound absolutely brilliant when they open it up. I've been giving serious thought to trading out the 911 for a 718 GT4RS. The few guys I've talked to love their GT4's but they also say the 911 is actually a more liveable car. The 718 is sometimes too loud and obnoxious. Has anyone spent time with a 911 and a GT4RS? Is trading out from a 911 C2S into a GT4RS going to be something I regret, and amd thankful I did? It seems like performance wise the C2S and GT4RS are on pretty even footing, so I wouldnt expect any great changes in performance but going from rear to mid engine would change the feel and that crazy 9k redline...... Heres our last drive where I got to spend time behind a 981 and in front of him was a GT4RS. Having those 2 in front of me was a front row seat to the symphony.  Olympic Penisula drive |

The GT4 was a fun car but I have no desire to buy another one, for me, it'll be the 911 or nothing. Obviously I didn't have the GT4RS but the cabin size is the same and I had a couple customers that had GT4RS' and sold them due to it being too loud in the cabin and not being a good daily or even a decent car to go run around in. |
| Wow how about that new GT3 S/C? I'm on the fence myself. On one hand a GT3 cab is pretty damn cool. On the other hand being a GT series car it really needs a rollbar (Since it isnt a hard top) and I thnk GT cars should have a wing on the back (Another no go what with being a cab) |

I think it depends on the year. The newer cayman s is a turbo 4 whereas the older ones are flat 6. The gt4 and 4rs are flat 6 so it’ll be different for sure. Personally I like the loud, high rpm engine and rough ride because I think it’s more fun. Im not daily driving my car so there is that to consider. If it’s not a daily just get what you really want. It’ll be cheaper in the long run. |

Signed up for my first HDPE event in May. I didnt realize how much track insurance was. Between HDPE event fees, hotel and insurance (The big one) a track event is a rather spendy way to spend a day. Not something I'll be doing every other weekend thats for sure Autocross was fun but it didnt really feel like a 911 is in its domain on that. Lots of tight turns and short sprints which it can do but I have a feeling its going to be more in its own on an actual track with good runs, high speeds and tight corners. I'm definitely looking forward to it. Ready to go tear it up at The Ridge Motorsports track.  |

My sister has a GT4RS I’ve driven it twice. It’s a fun car, but after an hour I want my car back. The suspension is just too much for my broken body long term. |

Finished up my first HPDE event at The Ridge. Man, what an experience. It was raining to beat hell most of the day, in a way I got lucky since it was so wet it lowered the limits which meant I could learn the track and explore the cars behavior without going Ludicrous speed around the track. My instructor was fantastic, and I look forward to working with him again. Really looking forward to the next one but man it aint cheap so this definitely isnt going to be an every weekend thing. Playing in the rain:  The Ridge HPDE event 5.15 Cleared up in the afternoon for a while. Got in a good session with no rain but the track was still wet. Had an opportunity to go GT hunting which was fun. They had the wrong tires for the day. Run whatchya briung and hope ya brung enough I guess.  The Ridge HPDE 5.25 Last lap @BlackTaco |
