Holy shit... I don't know how I missed this other than I've been effectively living in a cave for damn ever. I've been married only half the time, but losing my wife would take me out at the knees. I don't really have the words to express what I'm feeling. Anything about "my sympathies" feels hollow and useless... I'm sorry, man. I wish there was something I could say or do that would be helpful, but I know there isn't, not really. Words don't fix that sort of hurt. |

It's been 3 years. Times and circumstances have changed but there is not a day that goes by in which I don't think about her. For some reason her memory has been heavier on my mind this week. I miss you, Little Red. |

Time passing has helped. I have an amazing group of friends who have been absolutely rock solid and supportive. I couldn't be more blessed in that area. It's crazy to think it's about to be 4 years since she left this world. In some ways it seems like yesterday and then it's like a lifetime ago. It happens less and less but every now and then she comes into my mind and a tear forms. If a soulmate exists in this life, she was mine for sure. Her daughter is still in my life. She's 34 now. We will talk about her and the good times. We have a good relationship. She is dying from liver failure. I will bury her cremains next to the Mrs. She would be tickled to know I bought a Corvette exactly like the one I had when we started dating. She loved that car. I'm still in the same house. Did some updates and took down all the pictures of her. It as just way too hard looking at them everyday. I've filled my house with pictures of family and friends. I go to the gym multiple times a week. Attend a LOT of training classes mostly firearms related. Concerts have always been big in my life. Still go to them on a regular basis. I've been dating. Dating has been a hoot all on it's own. Everyone gets a clean page to write their story. Dating one woman for about 5 months now. We do have an exclusive arrangement. I'm now not opposed to the idea of getting married again. Only with a prenup. The Mrs and I had one. Not sure if it would be with the woman I'm currently dating. The cat that she left behind is still at my house. He and I are good buddies now. Thanks for asking. |

It is good that she is still on your mind from time to time. Shows the value of the time you shared together. Yes it’s painful at times but as you noted you’ve built up the ability to cope with it. It never fully goes away. It sounds like you’re doing good keeping on with family and the gym, etc. Warm regards from a damn yankee. |
The only hyphenated names I like are cartridge names......30-06, 30-40, 38-55 etc.
