I have a Mityvac I've used successfully on gearboxes, small engines, transmission fluid drain and fills to reduce mess when dropping the pan (if they have a dipstick), and certain vehicles where it's faster to pull from the sump vs. accessing the drain plug - looking at you, Audi/VW  . They pull just as much as pulling a plug and if they don't, the difference is inconsequential. |

I finally got a chance to use the oil extractor. It worked really well. I got the hand pump. Now I wish I would of got the air pressure one. I did put the Slingshot up on one 2x6 to raise the right side and it appears to have put all the oil over on to the left side where the dip stick is. |

I bought one years ago to change the engine oil in my boat engine. It worked good enough for me. you won't get all the old oil out of an engine even using the drain plug in the oil pan, |
