Probably closer to 2027, to be honest. Meanwhile, with each update, the game becomes more playable (except 3.18. We don't talk about 3.18) There are currently 3 systems, as they JUST opened Pyro. Might not even be in the permanent universe yet. There are still several gameplay loops that aren't available, and as a result, several of the specialty ships that are about worthless, or have been put on the back burner. I don't think I missed anything, but a couple of the other guys probably know more. I've only just started back in playing myself. ETA: Just to be clear, it IS still buggy, but not nearly as buggy as it was. Probably on the level or a 1st release Bethesda game. Maybe a little better. Thanks for the great response. I should muck around with the game but I don't really know wtf I'm doing. |

Which means I'm playing sitting in a kitchen chair, which is not at all comfortable. Read painful. Additionally, my second tier desk chair is trapped in a bedroom (son's before he moved out) and won't fit through the door, so it has to be disassembled and then reassembled once I get it out. Which I'm currently too fucking lazy to attempt. Soon,TM. |

| I thought their ship design was lacking for what they wanted to do with them in the game until the most recent wave of ships. They still have room for improvement but at least the newest ones seem functional as ships. |

Vulture is one of the easiest $$ per hour ships but is a bit pricier to get into if pledging. Scrapping gets boring as shit though after a while. I can only take it small doses |

Now for a request of aid from the mob. My gamebox is still chugging. My son-in-law, who's still doing computer work while I got out of the game 6 or 7 years ago (and you all know how fungible computer knowledge is.) says my CPU can't possibly run SC well because it's too old. What sayeth the mob? Running a AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-core 3.2 ghz. CPU. A Geforce 580rx 8gb, Video card. 32gig of RAM. Running WIN 10 off of a 1tb thumbstick SSD on the board. Am I boned, or am I good? |

Grab the latest bios for your motherboard and grab a 5700X3D to throw at it for less than $200 on sale right now. Maybe as a bonus, you can probably find some 3600CL16 ram cheap. Parts link Past that, you are getting into a motherboard change, which, I would argue would be lower priority than an updated GPU if you got the X3D chip. Really depends if and how much you want to throw at it. |

Corsair was simply the fastest way to do high level bounty missions solo, but there's little a solo Corsair pilot can do vs. even a well-piloted Aurora in PVP. Even fully manned it's got a huge blind spot you can sit in and it never had the rotation rates to stop you. The adjustment to the Redeemer was more of a role change than a nerf, both were related to where they wanted the Paladin in the lineup. Connie has the same rotation rates, more firepower and twice the hitpoints now. The Vulture isn't a bad pledge because you get a Buccaneer as a loaner. I like the Drake ships but it's hard to recommend owning them, they're cheap in-game. |

To be blunt, right now, playing the game is tedious and obnoxious. At least the cargo loop. The tractor beam is an exercise in masochism, and I've blowed up 4 ships hitting nothing in the last couple of days. That said, I see what the game can be, even as it is now, and I want to play it, which seems possible with some upgrading of my box. And that ain't CIG's fault. CR said right at the beginning of the project that this would never be a game for low end PCs. The aim was for it to run on whatever constituted a mid-range PC of the point in time it was released. When I built my gaming rig, it fit the timeframe, but feature creep (which, granted, ERREBODY warned him about.), with backer approval, I might add, kept making the project bigger. Remember, Star Citizen was supposed to be a WWII in space flight sim, but it turned out that wasn't what people wanted. Myself included. So, while I'm not currently happy with the gameplay, I can't say I didn't ask for it. |

He's been trying for 20 minutes, and he just cannot get the elevator doors to open. I just wanted a spiritual successor to Privateer / Wing Commander @RaptorFuel Wild. On paper, I think my system is way higher end than yours, and it runs like shit. I don't know what to think about that. |

Boy is my face red. ON a whim, I went and tested my internet speed. I'm supposed to have 400mbps DL in plan, but with only the single computer hooked up, the best I could get was 94. Hmm, I hmmed to myself. Why dat? So I checked my network card. Seems to be gigabit capable. So what's going on? Then it hit me, like a wet carp to the face. When was the last time I upgraded my ethernet cable? My Cat 5, fast ether cable? Wait... CAT 5? As in maximum throughput 100mbps CAT 5? Well, fuck me runnin'! Off to Wally World to pick up a Cat 6 cable and see if my gameplay improves at all. . Hard to believe I used to make my living doing this shit. And they talk about shooting being a fungible skill. |

The main thing to look out for is to make sure other applications/devices aren't saturating the pipe while you are trying to game. Hell, you could play Star Citizen on a 10mbps connection easy, it would just suck trying to download big updates. |

ETA: I went and took a look at the other motherboard, and it's set up for 11th and 12th gen Intel CPUs. Don't judge me, I was going through a phase. Just sent you a reply on your PM before I checked here. No, It's basically the same thing, but without the RGB. Your ram is perfect. Don't worry about changing it. I was going off the age of the rest of your parts and assumed you may not have had ram that runs on an even good ratio with the Zen3 infinity fabric clock speed. |

Using a Retaliator to Aquila and a Caterpillar to Orion upgrade, I think it'll only cost like $190. Truth be told I think the Perseus is the ship I'm most excited about. I'm debating whether to use the other Orion CCU that I have to get an actual Orion or to use it on something else. I traded an F7A Veteran's Day upgrade for an Arrastra, so I already have a big mining ship. |
Yesterday, 12/5/24, CIG announced that missile and bomb prices were going up. A LOT! Completely re-arming your Polaris with missiles will now cost you around 14,000,000uec. Size 10 torpedoes will now cost just north of a new Pisces C8X.ERREBODY PANIC! Today, they announced that the rewards for various missions would also be going up. Of course, whereas the missiles and bombs went up between a factor of 40 and 90, mission rewards doubled or tripled. That's some Biden level economy balancing, there. Meanwhile, I've got my new CPU and cooler on the way. Hope that wasn't a mistake. |

Sounds like I will continue doing the same. Meh. People are nuke and torp crazy as it is currently. It has to cost to more than likely one shot a ship or delete an entire area with many players. These capital ships are meant for orgs or groups of players that all contribute to the costs. Not for solo MMO players. |

But kept the increased rearm prices.

I need to reallocate my ships, I think I have far too many low level ones that will be easy to get in game and I need to melt them to get another large or sub-capitol. I have a Polaris, Hammerhead, Phoenix, and a bunch of Hornets and smaller. I think a Gemini and Cutlass Blue, maybe a Vanguard or Harbinger, on melt? Kharn |

Kharn The Pheonix might actually turn out to be a beast, only reason I don't have one is there's no way to discount it. Yeah small ships aren't the best value for pledge dollars but then once you upgrade them you end up stuck because you don't get your CCU chain back, so you end up locked into larger and larger ships if you keep playing that game. I have a $150 Polaris, and sub-$175 Perseus, BMM, Crucible, Endeavor, and Caterpillar, and sub-$100 Corsair, Taurus, Zeus MR, $20 Titan and Tana, and free Gladius and Dragonflies. $1200 melt total so it's never worthwhile for me to melt anything and half of them don't melt anyway. Might check the loaner matrix and see if you can get the ships you want to fly now with the ships you want to own later. I think I got a Harbinger with my Perseus and I know I have an Andromeda from the Crucible. And yeah, I should have just bought a Titan and maybe gotten the freebies, but it happened over a decade. |

I haven't given the game any new money or much attention in 5+ years, how did you get such big discounts? My Polaris and Hammerhead were full price in their initial sales, but all but 2-3 of my small ships are LTI. Kharn |

Always assuming, that is, that the new processor that's on its way makes the game playable for me. I checked last night, and Star Citizen alone was using 16+ gig of ram and 70+% of CPU, along with 100% of my bandwidth. |

Size 10 torpedoes will now cost just north of a new Pisces C8X.
But kept the increased rearm prices.
