Son will be graduating next month and off to college. I'd like to get him a nice watch, I've included what he likes in stores. Suggestions? I was thinking a used Tissot PRX - but this is what he likes Green Citizen Bulova White Chrono |

Don’t get him some oddball brand for his first watch. In fact, I would consider the full metal version of the G Shock 2100. It’s slim and classy looking enough for an 18 year old but doesn’t look like something his grandpa would wear and will stand up to anything and last forever. Attached File Attached File |

both of my older boys got Luminox watches with stainless bands. I'm sure GD hates Luminox, but they're rugged, look pretty cool and wear well when dressed up or casual. I purchased both from a dude named Dave Truong that own's a jewelry store in California (Mimi's Jewelry). He has some banging deals on Pacific Divers at or around your price point if you tell him you're a member of SigForum. |

I'm poor, but I'm voting Citizen. I have two Ecodrive watches and have had nothing but good things to say about them. I know one is over 10 years old, and I'm wearing the other one in the pictures from when my daughter was born 18 years ago. A little time in the sun and they are charged up. The one with the black face will stay easy to read as his eyes age. |

I like the looks of the Hamilton field watches but they have increased their prices significantly and have not upgraded their specs. Lack of AR coating, poor water resistance and weak lume made me sell my Khaki Automatic and not look at their others references. |

If you can swing an extra $100 I would go for this. Buy him some nice straps in different colors and it is an immensely flexible watch given the neutral but sophisticated dial color. They are solidly built, and are respected by watch bros. |

Not cheap by a longshot, but I've spent more for less.
