The MI liquor laws set a minimum price for every bottle of liquor in stores. The only way a store can go lower is to agree not to stock that bottle for a year. Most stores don’t, they just swap the bottles back with the distributor. Meijer does it once or twice a year. I got laphroig quarter cask for $38 a bottle. Enjoying a bottle now. I got five bottles. Got a bunch of stocking stuffers for friends. |

I love Bulleit Rye, but I hadn’t tried the bourbon. There was a great deal on a holiday gift pack so I grabbed one. I may have found a new go-to bourbon. Attached File |

| Picked up a bottle of Jameson today. My very first bottle and taste of Irish whiskey. Impressed to say the least! Never knew distilled spirits could be so smooth and tasty. Quite a welcome change from the sweet bourbon n' shine I've drank since before I was of legal age. Sittin' here sippin' it neat whilst listening to some Hank III Live and perusing how I wanna build me a 6.5G. Might just have to try the black label next trip to the likker store... |

2018 "Others" Grenache blend. The juice is from Catalon, France. I *think* this batch at least was bottled in California, but I'm not certain. I got it at Sam's this week. It's been open for four days. It was unapproachable the first night. The second night, decanted, it was approachable but it's so acidic it burns the tongue, and there is neither body nor fruit enough to make up the difference. The finish is nonexistant. The nose is nice, but that's about all. Tonight (night four) it's on the verge of collapse. The sign said it had a 94 rating, DECANTED. Yeah, that's bullshit. And they didn't say who the rating was from. Hey, maybe it was from the wino living in the drainage ditch out back of the store.  Listen, I'm all about decent wine under $20, and there are some. There are some VERY NICE inexpensive wines but...the way we find them is to taste some stinkers. Live and learn.... Spend your $12 on something else. Don't buy it.  I have GOT to dig out the posts from the wine thread and start it again. This is not the place for me to vent about a bad bottle of wine.  Sorry, y'all. |

Yes it is. Unfortunately they raised the price here in PA. They want $80 for it now. Used to be around $50. |
