2oz Makers 46 0.75 fresh lemon juice 0.5 oz simple syrup Shake above and strain over ice So, what are you drinking?

Mowed grass most of the afternoon.

Had my first pour of Pappy Van Winkle 15 year old last night!
Out celebrating the birthday with a buddy's family. He's the reason I've started exploring different bourbon this year. Really knowledgeable. The festive mood helped the bite of the $75 a pour cost.  .
The Pappy turned out to be everything I hoped and had heard it would be. It was fantastic. Attached File |

@FMJunkie - how is that bourbon? I didn't want to buy it due to the higher price than what I'm used to paying.
I'm drinking Maker's 46 and Pepsi. Because I am pondering things and will drink a rum and Pepsi after this. |

Whistle Pig Old World Cask Finish "Bespoke Blend"
This is interesting stuff - their 12 yr old rye finished in a mix of barrels: 41% Madeira, 50% French Sauternes & 9% Port. Lots of flavor here, and very smooth-drinking. Sweeter (fruity sweet) than basic WP, as you'd probably expect. I like WP's 10 yr, I love their Boss Hog and I dig this, too.

Bib & Tucker - I picked this up on a whim a short while ago. Honestly, half because I really liked the bottle and cork...  That made me look it up online, though, and it seemed worth a shot.
Its different. Light, SUPER easy to drink. Not the vanilla/caramel/sweetness most bourbon seems to offer. Its thin, almost smells like a bit of grass or hay. Taste is equally-light and has this super faint licorice kind of note. (and I mean very faint) Its kind of cool, I don't hate it. And I still like the simplicity of the bottle!

Tonight I got a little crazy. Had a pour of 1792, wild turkey 101 and eagle rare. All while smoking a CI legends drew estates copper. The weather outside on the pourch today was wonderful.
I think I like the eagle rare, then the WT 101 then the 1792. They were all enjoyable though. Sometimes you just need to drink quality less than $30 bourbons. . |

Eagle Rare on ice Buffalo Trace both neat and iced Michter's US 1 Old Beezer neat (not a "mainstream" but damn I like this @$36 and bought a bunch of bottles) I try to mix in one glass of a whole bunch of other stuff from time to time. Mostly because I really love variety and appreciate all kinds of different things, so I just want to experience them. Same with cigars... I have a big 'ol cabinet style humidor full of stuff, with a big stock of Bone Crushers and Liga #9s as my staple smokes. (though, I haven't been smoking them lately because of some dental issues/work in progress  )
