"13 Bullets" and I'm not really liking it. I'm still waiting for Larry Correia's new book that I preordered on July 9th and it was supposed to be here September 14th. Amazon keeps pushing the delivery date back for no apparent reason. |

Evil for Evil by James R. Benn. Benn's mystery series with Billy Boyle. Boyle was a cop in Boston and now works for General Eisenhower doing troubleshooting. Benn sends Boyle around the European theater including North Africa, Scotland and into Norway, and the Sicily invasion.
Evil for Evil has Boyle in Northern Ireland trying to find 50 stolen BARs and treading a fine line between IRA supporters and Unionists. |

About 2/3's of the way through Caesar's Legion:The Epic Saga of Julius Caesar's Elite Tenth Legion and the Armies of Rome.
Outstanding book. Is pretty much written as any regimental history you might find. Say, on the 101st, 1st Infantry Division, or something similar. Amazing how much detailed information exists out there on the different battles. Commanders, tactics, even what units were where. Not sure what I am going to start next. Probably Goldsoworth's bio on Caesar. |

I'm also listening to EASY MONEY by Jens Lapidus. Crime novel set in Stockholm A little over half way through right now. Not many sympathetic characters. There is a poor university student who fakes it as a rich kid and starts selling cocaine. A Serbian goon with no conscience and a brutal temper. A Chilean born Swede who escapes prison and tries extorting the Serbian's gang.
Neat story because Lapidus shows the different castes and classes in Sweden society. |

This book has had the shit redacted out of it. I believe this book at 1st print, was bought by the DOD, and all but a few copies destroyed. There is some stuff in here that the government should be embarrassed about. Frankly, I'm pissed off. Good read. New insight to the "Spook" world of warfare. |

The second book of the Tarzan of the Apes series. The first one was pretty good considering it was written in 1912. The Return of Tarzan was written in 1913. Everytime Tarzan made his "I won" yell I heard Johnny Weissmuller's iconic yell in my mind. LOL |

I've got a few Lee Child books waiting for me to read but I've been cruising Amazon lately and downloading free books and reading them.
I've got several of the "classics" waiting to be read one day... the free ones I'm pulling down are mostly science-fiction and self published. Some are ok, some are barely passable as books, some completely suck. I guess it's the equivalent of cruising youtube to watch videos... only a handful are worth watching. |

The Heart and The First by Eric Greitens, its is an awesome book and I highly recommend it. This is also the first book I am reading on my new iPad and its kind of weird not physically holding a book. I think I'll get used to it though. I just don't really like the feeling of not knowing that I am half way done or almost done with the book. Although there are page numbers at the bottom it just doesn't feel the same, obviously haha.
I do have a soft copy of it that I started but about half way through I got an iPad so I decided what the hell and downloaded it If anyone wants the soft copy PM me and I'll send it your way free of charge. |

I read a YA book recently, CREEPERS by Joane Dahm. It was a ghost story but so-so. I picked it out because I liked the graphic design inside.
I started reading MEMOIRS OF A DWARF IN THE SUN KING'S COURT by Paul Weidner last night. A comic novel and I cannot remember why I checked it out. |

| The Last Policeman a crime novel set in the "pre-apocalyptic United States" where everyone and everything has virtually quit working as normal due to an impending asteroid strike. I usually don't get into crime novels but the unique setting of this one has made it a fun and interesting read. |
