The bridge was filled with traffic at 4:58 p.m. Most of the motorists were headed home from work or from Christmas shopping. I have been here 8 years and gotten to know quite a few folks. From what I gather it was quite real and did scare people a lot. The tragedy of the bridge collapse far outweighed it. Today, people are thankful for the Mothman and the movie. It drives a LOT of tourism to this little town now. It’s become the “Roswell of the hills”. The Mothman Festival is huge for this area. The atmosphere here is creepy. There is an air of electricity in the air here, especially in fall. I also lived in Flatwoods for 7 years. (Flatwoods Monster). Somehow I wind up in Cryptid hotspots.
