Sig NEXT 2026 (Page 1 of 2)

Today 11:28:57 AM EDT
Sig NEXT is more or less their own private SHOT Show for new product releases.

The headliner here is the long rumored P385 pistol:

That's a full size pistol line that uses P320 mags, but unlike the P320, it's not designed around a DAO POS. Without digging in to the feature set, this pistol looks to have good potential.

Other new products include...

Alloy frame variants of the P211. The GT5 and GT4 are pretty heavy guns, and this saves ~10oz, so this is good.

Typical new configurations of the P365 and P320.

The HYP, an AR derivative built around 6.8x51:

A new optics family called XRAY5:

Details are scant, but this is extremely interesting. This is a solid state optic with no moving parts. It uses a 225 pixel dot matrix, and zeroing is done digitally. This is also going to have some kind of in-optic round counter. These are US assembled, and MSRP on the line runs between $499 and $599. I'll be keeping tabs on this.

They're also doing an AMR Combo Kit of the ROMEO5X:

The AMR system allows for quick, automatic changing of RDS settings when the magnifier is flipped. This was introduced on the ROMEO8T, but that combo had a soft reception thanks to its $999 price point. The ROMEO5X AMR combo has an MSRP of $499. That should be very competitive.

There are also a light and a rangefinder.

Unfortunately, they still aren't making P226/P229s with threaded barrels.

Safe to say they are going to end the p320 quietly and go to the 385. It won’t be long before every gun tuber has a 385 on their channel praising how great it is. It will also be said by a bunch that bashed sig prior. I have a 320. Two actually. I like them. Used to carry them. One is now a flux raider for a car gun. Other is a m18 in the safe. I don’t get all caught up in the stuff about them being unsafe. Maybe they are or maybe not. The raider is what the 320 is perfect for. I don’t have any desire to get a 385.  Nothing there that wows me

I’m saying the opposite, my sig pistols have not had issues. My sig msr gen 1 took a shit with almost zero use over a few years. They did replace it for free with a gen 2 which is now on my raider. It’s been fine so far. My sig Romeo pro 1 red dot is off from poi now and won’t adjust anymore to correct. Again, not a lot of use on that but I have had it for like 5 years. Just my experience and I am sure they do have good optics out there

Technically, they don't have to change a lot to call it "new." And I expect that's what's been done here.

I don't know when these guns ship, but it's going to be fun to pop the slide off one and see what they did.

they actually have some interesting stuff...

The 385 is a refinement of the 365 which is a refinement of the 320,which is a refinement of the 250... should be decent..

The Polymer framed 211 is somewhat interesting... they nailed the 211.

The 6.8 piston AR is interesting but i would not buy it do to combat ammo cost.

Optics.... nothing game changing....

ill probably beta test a 385 mach3d.

It's not a simple scale up, but there's a lot of what looks like inspiration taken from the 365 FCU to me.  It's definitely more of an evolution from the 365 than it is from the 320.

The 365 isn't a refinement of the P320. There are some external visual similarities, but internally, they're completely different guns.

If the XRAY5 optic works as designed, that's going to be pretty damn game changing. That solid state design is the biggest change in pistol optics going back to when ruggedized pistol optics for duty use were introduced, and maybe even before that depending upon one's perspective.

There's 3.5M+ P320s in circulation.

Offering a trade-in program wouldn't make sense in simple terms, and doing so would likely fuel the lawsuits against them making it a double whammy.

They also launched one new configuration of the P320 (Nightshift) and the M17 (SOF). Maybe they actually think there's demand for that, or maybe that's a strategic choice to control narratives about the P320 and the P385's launch in relation to the P320.

you are correct... i was just saying in terms of a product improved fcu guns.. the 250 was terrible, the 320 has significant issues that it was never able to shake. the 365 from all accounts is a decent pistol, and the 385 looks to continue that trend...

I'm just being pragmatic here.

I don't think there's any realistic scenario in which Sig can publicly accept responsibility or try to make things right while continuing to survive as a company. There's too much liability.

Beyond the existing cases, if Sig opens themselves up to that liability, they'd be presumed guilty for every AD/ND/UD event that ever happens with a P320 pistol no matter the cause, and each of those would come with a 7-9 figure judgement.

Their choices are to continue delicately dancing around and managing the issue until it slowly fades away or to go bankrupt. There is no middle option.

If you're mad about having an expensive paper weight in the safe, that's completely understandable. The good news is, there are non-Sig firearms on the market that use P320 magazines if you want to use those magazines without giving Sig more of your money.

I think eventually they’ll grow into their ambitions, but until they’re done they’ve had nothing but growing pains. They release models and let them get public beta tested, then by the time they fix that model they’re onto the next model and letting us beta test it.

It’s a shame because the finished product is often pretty neat, even if it’s usually not for me. But then you hate to invest in it when you know next week its replacement will be out. Repeat ad infinitum.

I expressed an opinion. You expressed one. That’s what we’re here for. It’s all good.

I’m looking at their corporate reputation vs. what I have in the safe. I have other Sigs that are great - 226, 228. I was just saying I’d take a look at a 385 if they had a trade up program.

Well if they are using a modified P365 FCU and have figured out why the trigger return spring breaks early. Maybe they will have a winner on their hands.

If they sell it as a life style fuck them. That's proof they have not changed.

You guys who are going to jump on this just remember the P365 will become a shake awake gun with high round counts. Hopefully this model will work with no problems.

They expected people to jump on the P211 bandwagon.

That obviously didn't happen, so this is Plan B.

The PSA AXR S will be able to take P320 magazines along with Gen3 Glock slides, so they can piss off two completely different fanbases

is that accurate, the 210, is very good, the 22X line is very good, the 211 line is very good, people really like the 365 line as well as there optics.

the mcx and 320 are kind of retarded but sig makes some solid stuff.

It’s not accurate at all. It was a stupid statement that clearly was made due to hating sig for whatever band wagon thought. Sig has grown since the 250 pistol a lot. Not saying they are the best but it’s a fact that they have gone somewhere but not downhill

P250 was improved to the point that it worked, and had a 99.99999999% reliable trigger.

It was when SIG tried to improve that number just a little bit in the P320 that SIG went downhill.

Hopefully the P385 is the upswing:

As much as I despise Cohen, and hate how Sig handled the 320, I am going to withhold judgment on the 385.  I hope that they figured it out and are able to turn things around.
I can’t stand it to think my life is going so fast and I’m not really living it.

Good! Glad they didnt go retard and design another mag.
but unlike the P320, it's not designed around a DAO POS.

Should let the P385 get through teething first before making that offer.

if the 385 is the upswing, what was the 365 and 211.
